Job Overview:
The Multisectoral Support Specialist will play a crucial role in supporting the STRIDES Bangladesh initiative, focusing on One Health and multisectoral coordination. This position involves working closely with the director" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Technical Director and various technical leads to facilitate engagement among stakeholders in human health, animal health, environmental health, and emergency response. The Specialist will be responsible for coordinating activities related to laboratory systems, surveillance, data integration, and outbreak preparedness. This role is essential for ensuring that STRIDES activities align with government priorities and address priority zoonotic disease needs. The Specialist will also contribute to the development of technical documents and ensure effective communication and collaboration among diverse stakeholders, ultimately promoting integrated action across sectors for stronger health systems and sustainable outcomes.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The key responsibilities of the Multisectoral Support Specialist include: supporting coordination and communication among various health institutions to enhance multisectoral collaboration; facilitating engagement with the One Health Secretariat and relevant technical working groups; documenting multisectoral engagements related to priority zoonotic diseases; organizing joint planning sessions and technical meetings; coordinating activities linking laboratory systems and surveillance; documenting workflows and meeting outcomes; contributing to the development of technical notes and policy briefs; tracking follow-up actions and commitments; coordinating with various teams to integrate One Health considerations; and supporting the planning and documentation of trainings and stakeholder consultations. The Specialist will also be involved in monitoring and reporting processes, consolidating information for project leadership and donors.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Master’s degree in public health, veterinary science, environmental science, social science, development studies, or a related field. A minimum of 6-7 years of relevant professional experience in project coordination, multisectoral collaboration, or public health is required. Candidates should demonstrate a strong understanding of the One Health approach and have experience working with government institutions, NGOs, or development partners. Strong organizational and coordination skills are essential, along with the ability to manage multiple tasks and stakeholders effectively. Proficiency in preparing technical documents and reports is necessary, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a Master’s degree in a relevant field such as public health, veterinary science, environmental science, social science, or development studies. This advanced degree is essential to ensure that the candidate has the necessary knowledge and skills to effectively contribute to the multisectoral coordination efforts and public health initiatives.

Experience:
The position requires at least 6-7 years of relevant professional experience. This experience should include project coordination, multisectoral collaboration, and involvement in public health or development programs. Candidates should have a demonstrated understanding of the One Health approach and experience working with various stakeholders, including government institutions and NGOs.

Languages:
Proficiency in English is mandatory for this position, as effective communication is crucial for collaboration and documentation. Knowledge of local languages may be considered an asset, enhancing the Specialist's ability to engage with diverse stakeholders in Bangladesh.
