Job Overview:
The Digital Impact Officer (Infrastructure) is responsible for overseeing the planning, implementation, and maintenance of ICT and telecommunications infrastructure across all UNICEF offices in Bangladesh. This role ensures high availability of systems and resources to facilitate effective and efficient delivery of results for children. The officer will provide technical and operational support in the implementation and continuous improvement of ICT infrastructure, network systems, telecommunications, and business continuity operations, in alignment with established policies and service level agreements. The position requires a proactive approach to managing ICT resources and ensuring compliance with the country programme management plan, ultimately contributing to UNICEF's mission of promoting children's rights and equity.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the planning and implementation of ICT infrastructure projects, ensuring alignment with UNICEF's strategic goals.
  • Maintain and improve telecommunications systems to ensure high availability and reliability.
  • Provide technical support for ICT operations, including network management and disaster recovery planning.
  • Collaborate with various stakeholders to ensure standardized ICT operations across field offices.
  • Monitor and evaluate ICT performance metrics to identify areas for improvement.
  • Manage vendor relationships and oversee contracts related to ICT services and equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with UNICEF's policies and guidelines in all ICT-related activities.
  • Prepare reports and documentation related to ICT operations and projects.
  • Facilitate training and capacity-building initiatives for staff on ICT tools and systems. 1
  • Support the integration of digital tools and innovations in UNICEF's programs.

Required Qualifications:
  • First Level University Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, Software Engineering, Information Technology Management, or related fields.
  • A minimum of one year of professional experience in information technology management, business operations, or related fields within a large international organization or corporation.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and oversee contracts and documentation.
  • Strong skills in ICT planning, procurement processes, and reporting.
  • Experience in managing technology vendors and monitoring service level agreements.

Educational Background:
Candidates must possess a First Level University Degree in relevant fields such as Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, Software Engineering, or Information Technology Management. This educational background is essential to ensure a solid understanding of the technical and operational aspects of ICT infrastructure and management.

Experience:
The position requires at least one year of professional experience in information technology management and business operations, particularly in large international organizations or corporations. Experience in ICT infrastructure, network management, telecommunications, and disaster recovery is highly desirable. Familiarity with digital engagement and call center operations will also be beneficial for this role.

Languages:
Proficiency in English is mandatory for this position. Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, or Spanish) or a local language is considered an asset and will enhance a candidate's profile.
