Job Overview: The Analyst position at EBRD is a critical role that contributes to all phases of the project cycle, including project origination, structuring, execution, implementation, and monitoring. The Analyst will be responsible for various tasks assigned by the operation leader or senior members of the project team, which may include conducting comprehensive due diligence, ensuring compliance with EBRD policies, and facilitating effective post-signing implementation and monitoring. The role will focus on sustainable infrastructure and energy sectors, requiring the Analyst to work collaboratively within a project team under the guidance of more experienced bankers. This position offers an opportunity to engage in meaningful projects that have a significant impact on the regions served by EBRD.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Analyst's duties and responsibilities include:
Structuring and Execution: - Collaborating as a project team member on transactions, contributing to project structuring and execution through research and analysis of background materials, market information, and financial performance data. - Analyzing potential risks associated with proposed projects, including financial statement analysis and the preparation of financial models and projections. - Assisting in the design and processing of technical cooperation assistance, including preparing terms of reference and internal approval documentation. - Communicating with internal units, clients, and stakeholders, preparing draft correspondence and presentations, and ensuring timely completion of assigned tasks.
Portfolio Monitoring, Value Creation, and Reporting: - Undertaking tasks related to project implementation and monitoring, ensuring compliance with project agreements and Bank procedures. - Preparing draft monitoring reports with recommendations for corrective actions and ensuring these are communicated to senior team members. - Assisting with the effective implementation and monitoring of technical cooperation assignments, including communication with clients and preparation of progress reports. The Analyst's responsibilities are designed to allow for progressive complexity and scope based on experience and expertise.
Required Qualifications: The required qualifications for the Analyst position include: - A Bachelor’s degree is mandatory, while a Master’s degree or equivalent experience in relevant areas is preferred. - Professional qualifications such as ACA, CFA, ACCA, or CIMA are desirable. - Strong quantitative and numerical skills are essential, with the ability to interpret financial information and design financial models. - Credit analysis skills are necessary, including an understanding of local and international accounting principles. - Proficiency in Microsoft Office and spreadsheet software, particularly for financial analysis and modeling, is required. - A good understanding of relevant systems and processes is important, along with the ability to work effectively as part of a team under time pressure. - Excellent written and oral communication skills in English are required, and proficiency in the Ukrainian language is an advantage.
Educational Background: Candidates must possess at least a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, with a Master’s degree being preferred. The educational background should ideally include studies in finance, economics, business administration, or a related discipline that equips the candidate with the necessary analytical and quantitative skills required for the role.
Experience: Relevant experience in the financial industry is essential for the Analyst position. Candidates should have experience from investment or commercial banks, private equity firms, asset management firms, or auditing/financial consulting firms that operate to international standards. Exposure to industry or country-specific experience is also beneficial, as it provides context and understanding of the markets in which EBRD operates.
Languages: The mandatory language for this position is English, with strong written and oral communication skills required. Proficiency in the Ukrainian language is considered an advantage, as it may facilitate communication with local stakeholders and enhance the Analyst's effectiveness in the role.
Additional Notes: The position is based in Ukraine with the possibility of temporary relocation to Warsaw, Poland. EBRD may allow eligible candidates to work from Ukraine if relocation is not feasible due to personal reasons. The contract type is regular, and the posting end date for applications is 17/06/202
