Job Overview:
The position of Website Development Volunteer involves working closely with our organization to create a new charity website that will serve as a vital resource for parents and guardians in our community. The website will be designed with a mobile-first approach, ensuring accessibility and ease of use for all users. The volunteer will be responsible for the entire development process, from conceptualizing the design to implementing the coding and layout. This role requires creativity, technical skills, and a passion for supporting our mission of empowering rural children. The website will include various pages that provide important information and updates about our programs and initiatives, making it a crucial tool for communication and engagement with our stakeholders.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with the organization to understand the specific needs and objectives for the website.
• Design and develop the website layout, ensuring a user-friendly experience.
• Code the website from the ground up, including the home page and all necessary subpages.
• Implement features that allow for easy navigation and access to information.
• Ensure the website is mobile-responsive and accessible to all users.
• Test the website for functionality, usability, and performance before launch.
• Provide ongoing support and maintenance for the website post-launch.
• Work with the organization to update content and make improvements as needed.

Required Qualifications:

• Proficiency in web development languages such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• Experience with website design and layout principles.

Educational Background:

Experience:
Previous experience in web development or design is highly desirable. Volunteers should have a proven track record of building websites and be comfortable working with various web technologies. Experience in non-profit or charity organizations is a plus, as it demonstrates an understanding of the unique challenges and needs of such organizations.

Languages:
Proficiency in English is mandatory, as it is the primary language of communication within the organization and for the website content. Knowledge of additional languages may be beneficial but is not required.
