Job Overview:
The Finance & Admin Assistant will play a crucial role in supporting the efficient implementation of project operations under the STRIDES project. This position involves providing finance and administrative support, which includes managing financial documentation, processing payments, maintaining organized records, and ensuring compliance with organizational policies and donor requirements. The role requires a strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. The assistant will also coordinate travel and meeting logistics, assist with data entry, and support the Finance team during audits, contributing to the overall success of the project.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Finance & Admin Assistant will be responsible for a variety of tasks including: assisting in the preparation of payment vouchers and compiling supporting financial documentation; reviewing documents for completeness; supporting data entry and transaction recording in financial systems; maintaining organized filing systems for financial records; assisting with petty cash documentation and reconciliation; tracking advances and payments; preparing monthly financial files; coordinating with vendors regarding invoices; maintaining administrative records; coordinating logistics for meetings and workshops; supporting travel arrangements; collecting quotations for procurement; maintaining procurement files; ensuring compliance with organizational requirements; and performing other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field. A minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience in finance, administration, or operations support is required, preferably within NGO or development projects. Basic knowledge of financial and administrative procedures is essential, along with experience supporting donor-funded projects such as USAID or UN initiatives. Proficiency in MS Office applications, particularly Excel and Word, is necessary, as well as strong organizational, documentation, and recordkeeping skills. Good communication and interpersonal skills are also required, along with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.

Educational Background:
A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field is required for this position. This educational background provides the foundational knowledge necessary for understanding financial principles, administrative processes, and operational support within the context of NGO and development work.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience in finance, administration, or operations support. Candidates with experience in donor-funded projects, particularly those funded by USAID or UN, will have a competitive advantage. This level of experience is crucial for understanding the complexities of financial management and administrative support in a fast-paced, donor-funded project environment.

Languages:
Fluency in English and Bangla, both written and spoken, is mandatory for this position. Proficiency in these languages is essential for effective communication within the organization and with external stakeholders. Additional language skills may be considered an asset but are not required.

The position is contingent upon funding from the Department of State (DOS). Candidates should be willing to travel to field locations if required and must be able to work in a multicultural team environment.
