Job Overview:
The internship with the United Nations offers a unique opportunity for students and recent graduates to gain practical experience in a global organization. The position is designed to assist in exploring the use of generative AI tools to enhance data processing, automation, and information management tasks. Interns will engage in statistical analysis, prepare infographics, and create presentations, while also designing data-driven reports and dashboards using Microsoft Power BI. This role is flexible, allowing for remote work or a hybrid arrangement at the UN premises in New York. The internship is unpaid and can be either full-time (35 hours per week) or part-time (20 hours per week), with a duration of six months, starting as early as June 29, 2026.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Interns will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including but not limited to: assisting in the exploration of generative AI tools for data processing and automation; conducting statistical analyses of data sets; preparing infographics and PowerPoint presentations; designing and implementing data-driven reports and dashboards using Microsoft Power BI; developing data collection applications utilizing the Microsoft O365 suite, including SharePoint, PowerApps, Flow (Power Automate), and MS SQL; supporting the development of prototypes or proof-of-concept applications that incorporate generative AI capabilities; helping to create technical documentation and guidance on data collection and visualization tools; and performing other duties as required by the team.

Required Qualifications:
To qualify for this internship, applicants must meet specific criteria: they must be enrolled in or have completed a graduate school program (second university degree or equivalent, or higher) or be enrolled in or have completed the final academic year of a first university degree program (minimum bachelor's level or equivalent). While professional work experience is not required, a field of study closely related to the internship is necessary. Applicants must demonstrate proficiency in standard word processing and software applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, as well as familiarity with office automation equipment. A keen interest in the work of the United Nations and a commitment to its ideals are essential, along with the ability to interact successfully with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds.

Educational Background:
Candidates must be students in the final year of their first university degree (bachelor's or equivalent), or enrolled in or have completed a Master's or Ph.D. program. Experience:
