Job Overview:
The UN Consultant for Digital Communications and Engagement will play a crucial role in enhancing the visibility and engagement of priority initiatives through effective digital communications. The consultant will be responsible for producing high-quality written, visual, and multimedia communications products that resonate with target audiences. This position requires a strategic approach to digital communication, ensuring that all messaging is clear, engaging, and aligned with the UN's organizational priorities. The consultant will work on various digital platforms, including social media, websites, and electronic newsletters, to support consistent branding and messaging across all communications. The role also emphasizes stakeholder engagement, requiring the consultant to coordinate inputs from relevant teams and provide practical communications support to enhance the use of digital tools.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Digital Communications and Engagement: Develop and implement digital communication strategies for priority initiatives, ensuring messaging is audience-appropriate and aligned with organizational goals.
  • Content Development and Editorial Support: Draft, edit, and package written communication materials, ensuring consistency in tone, style, and branding across outputs.
  • Creative Assets and Multimedia Production: Create and adapt visual and multimedia assets, coordinating with internal teams for timely production.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Support the preparation of meetings, workshops, and outreach activities, providing communications support to colleagues to enhance digital platform usage.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess at least a first-level university degree in communications, marketing" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">digital marketing, or related fields. A minimum of 3-7 years of experience in digital communications and stakeholder engagement within the private sector is required. Proficiency in content creation and social media management is essential, along with experience using tools such as Adobe Creative Suite and Canva. Familiarity with web content management systems and digital analytics tools, including WebFlow, WordPress, and Drupal, is also required. Strong written and verbal communication skills are necessary, and experience in producing newsletters, slide decks, and videos is desirable.

Educational Background:
A first-level university degree in communications, digital marketing, or a related field is mandatory for this position. This educational background provides the foundational knowledge necessary for effective digital communication and stakeholder engagement.

Experience:
The position requires 3-7 years of relevant experience in digital communications and stakeholder engagement, particularly within the private sector. This experience should include a strong focus on content creation and social media management, as well as familiarity with various digital tools and platforms.

Languages:
Fluency in English, both oral and written, is required for this position. This proficiency is essential for effective communication and engagement with diverse stakeholders.
