Job Overview: The position of Spécialiste de la Chaine d’Approvisionnement is crucial for the EpiC health project in Burkina Faso. Under the supervision of the Deputy director" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Technical Director, the specialist will provide technical support for the management of health product supply chains, focusing on maternal and child health, nutrition, global healthsecurity" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security, and HIV. The role involves coordinating with institutional actors and partners, utilizing logistics data analysis to improve product availability, reduce stockouts, and optimize costs. The specialist will also contribute to capacity building, activity planning and monitoring, needs quantification, logistical supervision, and the deployment of management tools and systems in close collaboration with the Ministry of Health and relevant structures. This position requires a proactive approach to ensure that health products are efficiently managed and accessible, ultimately contributing to better health outcomes in the community.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Spécialiste de la Chaine d’Approvisionnement will be responsible for providing technical support to the Ministry of Health in managing the supply chain for maternal, neonatal, and child health products, nutrition, global health security, and HIV. Key responsibilities include participating in quantification and forecasting meetings for health product inputs, supporting coordination efforts to strengthen the supply chain management system, and utilizing data from the logistics management information system to minimize stockouts and reduce costs. The specialist will also contribute to capacity building at the national level, work closely with national teams for intervention planning, and participate in supply chain coordination meetings among projects funded by the Department of State in Burkina Faso. Regular supervision of logistics activities and collaboration with the National Blood Transfusion Center and blood banks to ensure blood availability in targeted regions are also part of the role. The specialist will support the General Directorate of Access to Health Products in deploying and utilizing the ERPX3 platform.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree in public health, pharmacy, epidemiology, biostatistics, demography, population studies, or a related field, or an equivalent international qualification. A minimum of 5 to 7 years of experience in supply chain management is required, along with training and/or certification in supply chain management preferred. Experience in developing and utilizing health product management reports, prior work experience with NGOs, public administration, or private organizations, and a solid understanding of public health supply chain management and quality management systems are essential. Familiarity with health product supply processes and circuits is also necessary, and experience managing projects funded by the U.S. government is an asset.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes a Bachelor's degree in relevant fields such as public health, pharmacy, epidemiology, biostatistics, demography, or population studies. Candidates with equivalent international qualifications will also be considered. Additional training or certification in supply chain management is highly desirable, indicating a commitment to professional development in this area.
Experience: The position requires candidates to have between 5 to 7 years of relevant experience in supply chain management, particularly within the health sector. Languages: Fluency in French, both written and spoken, is mandatory for this position. Additional Notes: This position is based in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso, and involves regular travel within the country to monitor and support regional and district-level partners. The expected hiring salary range for this role is XOF 9,000,000 - 11,000,000 for annual basic salary.
