Job Overview:
The positions of Head, Russia Policy coordination-section" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Coordination Section and Head, Policy East Section are critical roles within NATO's Political Affairs and Security Policy (PASP) Division. The successful candidates will be responsible for leading their respective sections, which focus on developing and implementing political guidance related to NATO's policies towards Russia and Eastern partners, including Ukraine, Belarus, and Central Asian countries. The roles require a deep understanding of the evolving security landscape in the Euro-Atlantic area and the ability to manage complex political relationships. The incumbents will be expected to provide strategic oversight, manage teams effectively, and engage with various stakeholders, including allied delegations and international organizations. Duties and Responsibilities:
The Head, Russia Policy Coordination Section will be tasked with organizing and leading the work of the section, ensuring the development and implementation of NATO's political guidance towards Russia. This includes managing a busy set of files, overseeing policy work, and adapting strategies to the evolving security situation. The Head, Policy East Section will similarly manage their section, focusing on NATO's relationships with Eastern partners, guiding the work of the NATO Liaison Office in Chisinau, and collaborating closely with the NATO Representation in Kyiv. Both roles require the ability to provide oversight for cooperation frameworks and to shape policies that address the unique challenges faced by NATO in these regions. The successful candidates will also be responsible for preparing reports, engaging in diplomatic discussions, and representing NATO in various forums.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a university degree or equivalent qualification in political science, public or international relations, or a related field. A minimum of 10 years of relevant professional experience is required, including at least 5 years in a managerial or leadership role. Experience dealing with Russia is essential for the Head, Russia Policy Coordination Section, while knowledge of the Eastern partners is crucial for the Head, Policy East Section. A strong understanding of security issues in the Euro-Atlantic area, along with experience in program or project management, is necessary. Candidates must demonstrate proficiency in NATO's official languages, with a minimum of V (Advanced) in one language and I (Beginner) in the other. Additional qualifications such as working knowledge of Russian or Ukrainian, experience in the countries under the section's responsibility, and diplomatic experience are advantageous.

Educational Background:
A university degree or equivalent qualification in political science, public or international relations, or a relevant discipline is required for this position. Experience:
Candidates should have a substantial level of experience, specifically at least 10 years in relevant professional roles. Languages:
Candidates must possess proficiency in NATO's official languages, specifically achieving a minimum of V (Advanced) in one language and I (Beginner) in the other. Additionally, knowledge of Russian is considered an advantage for the Head, Russia Policy Coordination Section, while knowledge of Ukrainian is beneficial for the Head, Policy East Section. Additional Notes:
The successful applicants will be offered a definite duration contract of three years, with the possibility of renewal for an additional three years. The maximum period of service in this post is six years. If the successful candidate is seconded from a national administration of a NATO member state, the same contract terms apply, subject to national authority agreement. The positions are full-time, and candidates must be nationals of NATO member countries. The recruitment process includes pre-selection testing and final selection in Brussels, Belgium.
