Job Overview:
The Senior Programme Support Officer (Maritime Operational Analysis) position is part of the Indian Ocean East team within the Global Maritime Crime Programme (GMCP) at the UNODC Regional Office for South Asia, located in New Delhi, India. This role is crucial for providing substantive technical expertise in maritime operational analysis, policy engagement, and program implementation specifically tailored to the maritime security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security context of India. The officer will work under the overall supervision of the ROSA Representative and directly report to the Regional Programme Coordinator of the Indian Ocean East team. The position requires a proactive approach to lead comprehensive operational analyses on maritime criminal trends, including drug trafficking, maritime terrorism, and environmental crimes, while also translating analytical findings into actionable recommendations for programming and policy engagement.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the Senior Programme Support Officer include leading comprehensive operational analyses on maritime criminal trends affecting India and the Eastern Indian Ocean. This involves monitoring and assessing emerging maritime security threats and translating analytical findings into strategic recommendations. The officer will serve as the principal technical focal point for engagement with Indian maritime law enforcement and relevant ministries to enhance cooperation with UNODC GMCP. Additionally, the officer will drive the development and implementation of GMCP activities in India, ensuring alignment with national priorities. Responsibilities also include designing and leading capacity-building initiatives, developing high-quality analytical and policy products, identifying technical assistance needs, and coordinating closely with GMCP teams in the region. The officer may also be required to represent the programme at national and regional maritime security meetings and perform any other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a strong background in maritime operational analysis, policy engagement, and program implementation. They should demonstrate a deep understanding of maritime security issues, particularly in the context of India and the Eastern Indian Ocean. Additional Notes:
This is a national UN Volunteer assignment based in New Delhi, India. The UN Volunteer will be responsible for arranging their own housing and living essentials. The contract duration is subject to availability of funding and satisfactory performance, with no expectation of renewal. The position offers a volunteer living allowance of INR 140,316.82, an entry lump sum of USD 350, and relocation costs of $175 if the duty station is outside commuting distance. An exit allowance of USD 120 for each month served will be paid upon successful completion of the assignment. Comprehensive health and life insurance coverage is provided for the UN Volunteer and up to three eligible dependents. Additionally, volunteers are entitled to 2.5 days of annual leave per month.
