Duties and Responsibilities:
Interns will be involved in a range of activities that may include: providing support to ongoing projects, assisting with social media outreach efforts, offering administrative support, working on presentations, and consolidating and sorting data. The specific duties will depend on the intern's background and the needs of the division or office they are assigned to. Interns are expected to demonstrate initiative and contribute to the team's objectives while gaining insights into the workings of the United Nations and its initiatives in the Asia and Pacific region.

Required Qualifications:
Applicants must meet one of the following criteria: (a) be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); or (b) be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor’s degree or equivalent). This ensures that candidates possess the necessary academic foundation to engage effectively in the internship.

Educational Background:
Candidates should have a strong academic background relevant to the internship role. This includes being enrolled in or having completed a graduate programme or being in the final year of an undergraduate programme. The focus should be on fields related to sustainable development, agricultural sciences, social sciences, or other relevant disciplines that align with the objectives of ESCAP and its initiatives.

Experience:
While prior work experience is not mandatory, any relevant experience in project management, research, or administrative roles will be considered an asset. Languages:
Fluency in English is required for the internship programme, as it is one of the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat.
