Job Overview: The Information Systems Officer position is situated within the Division of Administrative Services (DAS) at UNON, specifically in the Information and Communication Technology Service (ICTS) and the Conference and Client Support Section (CCSS). The incumbent will play a pivotal role in providing operational leadership and overseeing the planning, management, and delivery of technical conference and meeting services to a diverse range of UNON clients, including government entities, UN organizations, and other stakeholders. This role requires a comprehensive understanding of conference technology, including systems for Conference Management and Simultaneous Interpretation, as well as audio-visual distribution and control. The officer will be responsible for ensuring that all technical aspects of conference operations are executed efficiently and effectively, thereby enhancing the overall conference experience for clients. The position also involves mentoring junior staff, developing cost proposals for services, and driving digital transformation initiatives within the conference management domain.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Information Systems Officer will undertake a variety of responsibilities, including but not limited to: providing operational leadership on conference technology; overseeing the planning and organization of meetings; developing cost proposals and procurement plans; gathering and monitoring AV and ICT requirements; proposing new policies and optimizing existing procedures; planning and executing upgrades of AV and IT equipment; developing technical documentation and training materials; ensuring business continuity through Service Level Agreements; supporting digital transformation initiatives; and analyzing data to inform decision-making. The officer will also be tasked with maintaining effective communication with stakeholders and ensuring that all conference technology services meet established quality standards and client expectations.

Experience: Candidates should have a minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in the planning, design, development, operation, and maintenance of large-scale conference management systems, particularly those involving audio-visual control systems and integration with hybrid meeting platforms. Experience managing a team of ICT technicians or service desk personnel for at least two years is required. Additional experience with Remote Simultaneous Interpretation platforms, digital signage, and data analytics is desirable, as is experience in managing AV Over IP infrastructure.
Languages: English is required for this position, as it is one of the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat.
