Job Overview:
The role of the Online Volunteer for UNDP Careers Communications is to support the organization's efforts in enhancing its employer brand and showcasing the learning and career development opportunities available within UNDP. This position involves producing high-quality, human-centered stories for LinkedIn that highlight real examples of career growth, internal mobility, and cross-regional collaboration. The volunteer will conduct structured interviews with UNDP staff members to capture insights about their professional journeys and draft engaging articles that align with UNDP's branding and storytelling style. The content produced will contribute to UNDP's outreach efforts, demonstrating the impact of initiatives like the Virtual Development Assignment Programme (VDAP) and promoting a culture of continuous learning and development.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Conduct a 20–30 minute virtual interview with a UNDP staff member to gather insights about their professional journey.
  • Capture key insights and experiences shared by the interviewee during the interview.
  • Draft a compelling and engaging article suitable for publication on UNDP Careers LinkedIn.
  • Ensure that the tone and style of the article align with UNDP's employer branding and storytelling guidelines.
  • Incorporate feedback from the interviewee and UNDP focal point into the final draft of the article.
  • Collaborate with UNDP Careers Communications team to ensure the content meets organizational standards and objectives.
  • Contribute to a broader content piece that promotes career growth opportunities at UNDP.

Required Qualifications:
  • Strong writing and communication skills, with the ability to create engaging content for diverse audiences.
  • Experience in conducting interviews and synthesizing information into coherent narratives.
  • Familiarity with UNDP's mission, values, and employer branding is preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively to meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in using digital communication tools and platforms, particularly LinkedIn.

Educational Background:
A background in communications, journalism, international relations, or a related field is preferred. Candidates should have a strong understanding of storytelling techniques and the ability to convey complex information in an accessible manner.

Experience:
