The intern will be involved in conducting a preliminary institutional environmental diagnosis, contributing to the design of a sustainability improvement strategy, and working collaboratively with the Greening the Blue Committee. The role also includes presenting progress, proposals, and recommendations to the committee for feedback, as well as assisting in the preparation of a final written document that consolidates the diagnosis, proposed strategy, and recommendations. Additionally, the intern may be required to assist in executive presentations or inputs for decision-making processes, and perform other technical functions related to economic analysis and data management as assigned by the office's strategic priorities.
Duties and Responsibilities: The intern will be responsible for the following duties:
Support the development of a preliminary institutional environmental diagnosis.
Contribute to the design of a strategy for improving the environmental sustainability of the UN House in Costa Rica, aligned with Greening the Blue principles and UN system commitments.
Collaborate with the Greening the Blue Committee at UN House Costa Rica.
Present progress updates, proposals, and recommendations to the committee for feedback.
Assist in the preparation of a final written document that consolidates the diagnosis, proposed strategy, and recommendations.
Provide support in preparing executive presentations or inputs for decision-making as required.
Perform other technical functions related to economic analysis and data management as assigned in line with the office's strategic priorities.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a university degree in Environmental Health or related fields. While professional work experience is not mandatory for applicants to the United Nations Internship Programme, candidates should have a field of study closely related to the type of internship they are applying for. Applicants must be in their final year of a first university degree (bachelor's or equivalent), or be enrolled in a master's or doctoral program, or have completed a bachelor's, master's, or doctoral degree.
