Job Overview:

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with local and international partners to design and implement project activities that align with the UN's strategic goals.
• Monitor and evaluate project progress, ensuring that objectives are met within the specified timelines.
• Prepare regular reports on project activities, outcomes, and challenges faced, providing recommendations for improvement.
• Facilitate workshops and training sessions for local stakeholders to enhance their capacity in project implementation.
• Engage with community members to gather feedback and ensure that projects are responsive to their needs.
• Maintain effective communication with the IUNV team and other relevant parties to ensure alignment of efforts.
• Contribute to the development of project proposals and funding applications to secure resources for ongoing initiatives.
• Uphold the values and principles of the United Nations in all interactions and activities.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess strong project management skills, with a proven ability to lead and coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential, as the role requires collaboration with diverse groups. The ability to work independently and as part of a team is crucial, along with a commitment to the principles of volunteerism and sustainable development. Candidates should demonstrate cultural sensitivity and adaptability in various contexts.

Educational Background:
A Bachelor's degree in Project Management or a related field is required for this position. Additional certifications in project management methodologies (such as PMP or PRINCE2) are highly desirable and will be considered an asset.

Experience:
Candidates should have a minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience in project management or a related field. Experience working with international organizations or in a multicultural environment is preferred. Familiarity with the United Nations' operations and development goals will be advantageous.

Languages:
Fluency in Spanish and English is mandatory for this position. Proficiency in additional languages is considered a plus and may enhance the candidate's suitability for the role.

Additional Notes:
This position is not remote and is based in San Jose, Costa Rica. The contract duration is subject to project needs and may be extended based on performance and funding availability. The role is classified under the least hardship level (A), and it is designed for family staff members or affiliates.
