In Chile, this work is linked to the need to strengthen institutional capacities at the municipal level, considering the key role of local governments in territorial management, climate planning, and direct response to climate change impacts. The objective of this assignment is to support the operational and technical implementation of a gender and climate change training cycle aimed at municipal officials in Chile. The volunteer will contribute to facilitating virtual sessions, tracking participants, organizing materials, and systematizing information, thereby strengthening capacities for more inclusive, equitable, and gender-responsive local climate action.

Job Overview:
ONU Mujeres Chile will implement a training cycle on gender and climate change aimed at municipal officials working in areas related to the environment, climate change, and gender equality. The course aims to strengthen technical and institutional capacities to integrate gender perspectives into the design, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of climate policies, programs, and actions at the local level. The initiative will be conducted in a synchronous virtual format and will combine conceptual content, case analysis, participatory activities, and applied exercises. Through the course, participants will review the links between gender and climate change, national and international regulatory frameworks, care, gender-based violence in the context of climate crises, participation, local governance, and the incorporation of gender approaches into municipal climate change plans.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The volunteer is requested to provide operational and technical support in the implementation of a virtual course on gender and climate change aimed at municipal officials in Chile. The volunteer will assist in the overall coordination of the sessions, track participants, organize inputs, and support the development of necessary materials for the proper execution of the training activities. The assignment will begin on June 16, and availability is required for sessions that will take place every Thursday from 10:30 AM to 12:00 PM Chile time.

Required Qualifications:
The position requires a strong understanding of gender issues and climate change, as well as experience in educational or training environments. The volunteer should possess excellent organizational skills, the ability to work collaboratively in a team, and strong communication skills. Familiarity with virtual training platforms and tools is essential, as well as the ability to adapt materials for online learning.

Educational Background:
A background in social sciences, environmental studies, gender studies, or a related field is preferred. Candidates should have a solid understanding of the intersection of gender and climate change, as well as relevant academic qualifications that support their ability to contribute to the training program.

Experience:
Candidates should have prior experience in training, facilitation, or educational program support, particularly in areas related to gender and climate change. Experience working with municipal officials or in local government settings is highly desirable, as is familiarity with the challenges and opportunities related to integrating gender perspectives into climate action.

Languages:
Proficiency in Spanish is mandatory, as the training will be conducted in Spanish. Knowledge of English or other languages is considered an asset, as it may facilitate access to additional resources and materials.

Additional Notes:
The position is voluntary and requires a commitment to attend weekly sessions. The role is part-time, with specific hours dedicated to training sessions and preparation. The volunteer will not receive financial compensation but may gain valuable experience and networking opportunities within the UN system and the field of gender and climate change.
