Job Overview:
The UN Volunteer will be embedded at the UNICEF Senegal Country Office, supporting the Digital Inclusion Programme Manager. This role involves driving the identification, planning, implementation, and adoption of Digital Inclusion's technology services across multiple countries, particularly in francophone regions. The incumbent will work closely with UNICEF teams to ensure that digital solutions are effectively localized and integrated into national systems. The position requires a blend of technical expertise and project management skills to facilitate the successful delivery of digital initiatives aimed at improving connectivity and access to digital resources for children and communities.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Account Management (Senegal): Provide technical support to users on Digital Inclusion platforms, assist with onboarding, and ensure long-term success. Coordinate with the digital education focal point, document technical needs, and follow up on actions related to platform implementation. Compile lessons learned and maintain technical documentation while monitoring adherence to project governance processes. Identify success stories and develop communication materials.
  • Opportunity Development & Identification: Conduct landscape assessments of connectivity initiatives in francophone countries and develop targeted programmatic opportunities. Support scoping of new project requests from stakeholders and surface emerging use cases to inform product development.
  • Delivery & Project Management: Manage the delivery of mapping work in at least four countries, collaborating with stakeholders to collect and validate data. Support advocacy efforts and monitor progress against deployment milestones.
  • Customer Success: Organize training for governments and partners to build ownership of DI platforms, design strategies for user engagement, and ensure tools are integrated into workflows. Provide ongoing support and lead user acquisition efforts in Senegal.
  • Additional Responsibilities: Engage in community volunteerism activities, strengthen knowledge of volunteerism, and contribute to UNV publications.

Required Qualifications:
The ideal candidate should possess strong technical skills in digital platforms and project management. They should have experience in stakeholder engagement and the ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams. A background in digital inclusion, education technology, or related fields is preferred. The candidate should demonstrate excellent communication skills and the ability to adapt to changing environments.

Educational Background:
A bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as information technology, education, social sciences, or international development is required. A master's degree would be an advantage, particularly in areas related to digital inclusion or public policy.

Experience:
Candidates should have at least 2-3 years of relevant experience in project management, digital solutions implementation, or related fields. Experience working with international organizations or in a multicultural environment is highly desirable. Familiarity with the challenges of digital access in developing countries is a plus.

Languages:
Fluency in French is mandatory, as the role focuses on francophone countries. Proficiency in English is also required, and knowledge of additional languages spoken in the region would be beneficial.

This is a UN Volunteer position based in Dakar, Senegal, classified as a family duty station. The role may require occasional field missions within the country.
