Job Overview:
The Child Protection in Emergencies Officer (CPiE officer) will be responsible for ensuring the specific care of children who are victims of various protection cases and survivors of gender-based violence (GBV). This role involves case management and representing Plan International in various meetings related to child protection in the intervention area. Under the supervision of the Project Manager, the CPiE Officer will contribute to the development and execution of a project focused on child protection in emergencies. The officer will work closely with program colleagues to integrate child protection mechanisms into the programming areas of Plan International Haiti. The position requires coordination with other team members to ensure a rapid, proportionate, and effective response to child protection needs.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The CPiE Officer will have a comprehensive set of duties and responsibilities, including: identifying and supporting the strengthening of community child protection mechanisms in the intervention area; developing training tools for community structures involved in project implementation, including learning objectives and activity agendas; creating a capacity-building plan for project staff and partners on child protection, GBV, and case management; organizing weekly/monthly case management meetings; ensuring data protection and record-keeping; updating the case management database; conducting monthly analyses based on case management data; proposing changes in case management interventions based on data analysis; sharing quantitative and qualitative data analyses with community structures to inform their mediation and awareness sessions; conducting file audits; organizing satisfaction surveys with children and their families/guardians; and ensuring the functionality of referral systems through coordination with other service providers, advocacy, and capacity building of other stakeholders.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess at least a university degree (BAC+3) in Social Sciences, Economics, Business Administration, Project Management, or a related field. They should have professional experience in child protection in emergencies or a similar field, with proven experience in using project management tools. A solid background in implementing programs and projects in emergency contexts is essential. Candidates must demonstrate excellent communication skills, organizational abilities, and knowledge of participatory methods and social mobilization. Proficiency in computer tools (Project Manager, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is required, along with a good command of English being an asset. Strong interpersonal skills and knowledge of international standards in humanitarian interventions are also necessary, as well as familiarity with the Haitian context and experience with international NGOs being a plus.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a minimum of a university degree (BAC+3) in relevant fields such as Social Sciences, Economics, Business Administration, or Project Management. This educational foundation is crucial for understanding the complexities of child protection and emergency response.

Experience:
The position requires candidates to have a significant level of experience, specifically in child protection in emergencies or related fields. This includes practical experience in project management and implementation in emergency contexts, demonstrating the ability to navigate the challenges associated with such environments effectively.

Languages:
While a good command of English is considered an asset, the mandatory language for this position is French, given the context of the work in Haiti. Proficiency in both languages will enhance communication and effectiveness in the role.
