Job Overview: The position is based in Lyon and reports to the Financial Management of HI, joining a team of 8 individuals. As a National Association Accountant (AN), you will be responsible for maintaining regular accounting records, reviewing accounts, performing closures, handling tax declarations, monitoring third-party accounts, identifying fixed assets, implementing the archiving of supporting documents, preparing financial statements, and ensuring compliance with organizational standards and the regulatory framework of the country. You will also work across multiple entities within the HI network, including the English entity. The role requires a proactive approach to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data while collaborating with various departments to produce coherent financial reports and analyses.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Production of accounting statements: You will validate the final balances for your AN scope, produce accounting statements (tables and comments) in coordination with other services, contribute to the coherence of accounting plans for account consolidation, act as the point of contact for auditors during audits, identify key elements to be included in the consolidated accounts of the network, and ensure ongoing monitoring of fiscal and accounting regulations while advising stakeholders on these matters.
Good account management: You will guarantee the quality of accounts (justification, coherence, regularity), analyze and clear suspense accounts, make necessary adjustments and post corrective entries, prepare provisions and ensure their follow-up, account for specific operations (payroll, legacies, etc.), and produce analyses while justifying data to auditors.
Coordination and support for entities: You will serve as the accounting reference for the entities within your scope, work closely with management control, contribute to process improvements and strengthen internal controls, implement risk prevention actions, support local teams in developing their accounting skills, and participate in the evolution of tools and procedures.
Profession animation: You will deploy and monitor accounting standards, contribute to sharing best practices and team dynamics, and actively participate in the animation of the professional community.
Standards and expertise: You will ensure compliance with accounting policies and procedures, guarantee adherence to legal and regulatory obligations, contribute to the continuous improvement of practices and tools, and ensure proper management and archiving of accounting documents.
Required Qualifications: You must have at least 4 years of experience in an accounting department, ideally gained in an accounting firm. You should be comfortable in evolving environments, demonstrating rigor, organization, and strong analytical skills. Your ability to question processes, along with your proactivity and responsiveness, will enable you to adapt effectively. Discretion and good interpersonal skills are essential, as is a preference for teamwork. You must possess a minimum English level of B2, be proficient in office tools, particularly Excel (basic functions are essential), as well as Word and Outlook. Experience with accounting software is required, and knowledge of Navision would be an additional asset.
Educational Background: The position requires a solid educational background in accounting or finance, typically at least a bachelor's degree in a relevant field. Advanced qualifications such as a master's degree or professional certifications in accounting would be advantageous and demonstrate a higher level of expertise in the field.
Experience: The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in an accounting role, preferably within an international or non-profit organization. Experience in a dynamic and evolving environment is crucial, as is the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
Languages: Fluency in French is mandatory, and a minimum English level of B2 is required. Additional language skills would be considered a plus, particularly in languages relevant to the regions where HI operates.
