Job Overview:
The internship role of the program accountant is to control the accounts prepared by the field to ensure compliance with internal standards and procedures. In this area of activity, the intern will analyze and identify risks. Program accountants oversee cash management, accounting allocations, and generally ensure adherence to accounting procedures. The intern will support the team with tasks related to the review of field accounts (monthly and in connection with the annual closure) and the paper and digital archiving of accounting documents. The activities will include assisting with monthly reviews (matching entries, generating bank reconciliation statements in the system, etc.), supporting internal control by performing checks and verifications (cross-revisions, checks on selected accounting documents, etc.), reconditioning documents received from programs, assisting with digital archiving, and supporting the annual closure.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The intern will be responsible for the following duties:
  • Assisting with monthly account revisions, including matching entries and generating bank reconciliation statements.
  • Supporting internal control through the execution of checks and verifications, including cross-revisions and checks on selected accounting documents.
  • Reconditioning accounting documents received from various programs.
  • Assisting with the management of digital archiving processes.
  • Supporting the annual closure of accounts by providing necessary documentation and assistance to the accounting team.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must be in training in accounting or management assistance. They should have a good ability to follow written procedures and possess a solid understanding of the accounting framework. Candidates should be rigorous, methodical, and proficient in English. Comfort with Excel is essential, and having knowledge in auditing is considered a plus.

Educational Background:
The position requires candidates to be enrolled in a training program related to accounting or management assistance. A mandatory internship agreement must be provided by a French educational or training institution.

Experience:
The internship is designed for students or recent graduates who are currently in training or education related to accounting or management. Previous experience in a similar role is not explicitly required but would be beneficial.

Languages:
Proficiency in English is mandatory, and knowledge of French is also essential given the location and nature of the work. Additional languages may be advantageous but are not required.

This is a 6-month internship starting from 12/10/202
  • Interns will receive a monthly stipend of €693, meal vouchers valued at €8.96 (with 60% covered by the employer and 40% by the intern), and a 50% contribution towards transportation costs. The workplace is accessible via public transport (bus, metro), with parking and bike storage available. The office is designed to be inclusive, featuring ramps and elevators for better mobility. Open space workstations are available, with quiet boxes on each floor for those needing a calmer environment. A disability liaison is present to assist with any questions or needs.
