Job Overview:
The Individual Giving Assistant plays a crucial role in supporting Mercy Corps' fundraising efforts and enhancing supporter engagement. Reporting to the Fundraising Operations and Engagement Manager, this position is integral to the coordination and delivery of both online and offline fundraising activities. The assistant will be responsible for ensuring that fundraising campaigns and appeals are executed effectively, which includes assisting in campaign planning, coordinating creative assets, and liaising with external suppliers. The role also involves creating engaging supporter journeys and ensuring that all communications adhere to brand guidelines and compliance standards. In times of humanitarian emergencies, the assistant will help develop and deliver timely communications to engage supporters and inform them about Mercy Corps' response efforts.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the Individual Giving Assistant include supporting the implementation of marketing activities aimed at attracting new supporters through various channels such as email, social media, and direct mail. The assistant will also help manage supporter journeys for different donor types, ensuring that communications are accurate and engaging. Additionally, the role involves supporting the delivery of the individual giving strategy, assisting in the creation and updating of content for fundraising campaigns, and providing administrative support to ensure timely and high-quality campaign delivery. The assistant will collaborate with external partners, maintain accurate supporter records, produce and edit digital content, and work closely with the data team to ensure compliance with data management standards. Other responsibilities include reviewing communications materials, staying informed about emerging trends in fundraising, and providing cover for the Development Operations Assistant when necessary.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates for the Individual Giving Assistant position should possess a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, or at least 2 years of administrative experience. Experience in donor care, fundraising, or customer service is highly desirable. Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential, along with good organizational and time management abilities. The ideal candidate should be comfortable working with data and systems to support reporting and campaign activities, and should have experience or a willingness to learn about digital communications platforms and basic design tools. Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, and Outlook is also required.

Educational Background:
A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience is required for this position. Candidates should have a solid understanding of fundraising principles and practices, as well as experience in administrative roles that support fundraising activities.

Experience:
The position requires at least 2 years of administrative experience, preferably in a fundraising, donor care, or customer service role. Candidates should have a demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks effectively and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Experience with digital communications and fundraising strategies is a plus.

Languages:
