Job Overview: As an Associate Strategy Officer, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the Foundation's strategic initiatives. Reporting to the director" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Deputy Director of the Foundation Strategy Office, you will engage in critical strategy projects that involve both qualitative and quantitative analyses. Your responsibilities will include synthesizing insights and communicating them effectively to partners, as well as managing client relationships. This position is designed to support the development, prioritization, and launch of new strategies and initiatives across various domains such as Global Education, Gender Equality, Malaria, Family Planning, and more. The role is structured as a 2-year limited-term position, allowing you to contribute significantly to the Foundation's mission while working in a hybrid arrangement.
Duties and Responsibilities: In this role, you will employ strategic resources to develop and assess various options, ensuring sound reasoning and challenging assumptions throughout the process. You will work closely with internal clients to co-develop and test strategy concepts, facilitating necessary organizational changes. Your contributions will include implementing creative solutions that guide strategic decisions and enhance team operations. Additionally, you will be responsible for identifying and implementing research and analytical methodologies that support decision-making processes. You will also assist Senior Strategy Officers with the day-to-day management of the strategic process and mobilization of specific projects. Regular contributions to team development initiatives, such as refining team vision and goals, professional development, training, recruiting, onboarding, and organizing team events, will also be part of your responsibilities.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in strategic planning and consulting. Experience at a top-tier management consulting firm is highly desirable. A deep understanding of strategy development and sophisticated project management is essential. The ability to work sensitively across cultural and linguistic barriers is crucial, as is proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Stata or similar software. Candidates should demonstrate a proven ability to convey information effectively through visual representations such as tables and graphs. Additionally, the role requires the ability to travel up to 20% domestically and internationally.
Educational Background: A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as business, public policy, or a related discipline is required. Equivalent experience in strategic planning and consulting may also be considered in lieu of a formal degree. The salary range for this position is between $130,000 and $195,000 USD, with specific adjustments for high-wage markets like Seattle and Washington D.C., where the range is $143,000 to $214,600 USD. The Foundation aims to balance competitive compensation with its mission-driven focus, and new hire salaries typically fall between the minimum and midpoint of the salary range, depending on the candidate's skills and experience.
