Job Overview: The Finance Manager for Agriculture Development will play a pivotal role in providing business and financial support to the Agriculture Development team. This position involves daily engagement in financial planning and analysis, budgeting, reporting, and forecasting. The Finance Manager will ensure that systems and processes are established for timely financial reporting and rigorous analysis, which are essential as the organization grows. The role requires collaboration with leadership and program officers to translate strategic objectives into long-term investment plans, monitor financial performance against budgets, and identify risks. The Finance Manager will also develop financial monitoring tools and partner with programmatic teams to manage grant spending effectively. This position is crucial for supporting sustainable agricultural transformation in sub-Saharan Africa and South Asia, ensuring that resources are allocated wisely to maximize impact.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Perform analysis and provide leadership with strategic and financial information to support budget management and forecasting.
Collaborate with leadership and Program Officers to translate strategy into long-term investment plans.
Monitor actuals and forecasts against budget, identifying major risks.
Create financial monitoring and planning tools, partnering with programmatic teams to manage grant spending.
Identify operational and financial risks and propose mitigating strategies.
Conduct financial and risk analysis to support investment management with an 'Impact First' approach.
Partner with Program Officers to structure effective investments and develop strategies to manage risks.
Benchmark costs and provide advice to Program Officers in negotiations.
Analyze and develop business plans and perform financial sustainability analysis. 1
Assess the financial health of grantee organizations through financial statement reviews. 1
Lead organizational assessments of key grantees and develop action plans. 1
Communicate findings of resource allocation processes to internal stakeholders. 1

Required Qualifications:
A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent demonstrated experience.
Strong analytical skills, particularly in financial modeling and investment structuring.
Proficiency in Excel and other analytical tools.
Detailed knowledge of risk management and due diligence processes.
Robust analytical, quantitative, and modeling skills applicable to various business models.
Ability to communicate complex financial concepts to diverse audiences.

The salary range for this position in Seattle is between $143,000 and $214,600 USD, with actual placement depending on the candidate's skills and experience.
