Job Overview: The position of Work-study student in the Administrative and Finance Management area is designed to support the Control Management Service, which is part of the Administrative and Finance Directorate (DAF). The primary objectives of this service include ensuring proper financial management of country offices and the organization as a whole, ensuring compliance with internal guidelines and donor requirements, and reducing associated risks. The Work-study student will assist in various activities such as budget monitoring, annual programming, monthly global reporting, and ad hoc analyses. This role provides a comprehensive understanding of the functioning of a headquarters control management service and allows the student to acquire solid skills in analysis" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">financial analysis, budget management, and data management.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Work-study student will be responsible for several key tasks, including:
Budget Monitoring: - Preparing and updating monthly budget tracking files for each service. - Analyzing discrepancies between accounting records and expenditures considered realized in budget tracking and proposing corrections. - Analyzing variations between actual, forecasted, and budgeted amounts for each service. - Contributing to the preparation of materials for budget meetings.
Contribution to Annual Programming: - Assisting in the collection and consolidation of the annual budget. - Preparing summary tables, historical data, and comparative analyses. - Participating in the production of communication materials using Excel, PowerBI, and PowerPoint.
Monthly Global Reporting: - Contributing to the monthly consolidation of expenditure forecasts. - Participating in monthly analytical controls. - Updating monthly reporting files (Excel). - Preparing and formatting internal communication materials (Word and PowerBI).
Ad Hoc Analyses: - Conducting analyses as requested. - Supporting preparatory work related to the annual accounting closure.
Required Qualifications: Candidates should possess a Bac +3 level education in finance or control management, preferably from a business school, IAE, or university. A familiarity with the humanitarian sector is considered an asset. Proficiency in the Office suite, particularly advanced Excel skills (including pivot tables and advanced formulas), is essential. An interest in PowerBI and/or PowerQuery is also beneficial. Candidates should demonstrate the ability to work collaboratively in a team, possess strong analytical and synthesis skills, and exhibit rigor, attention to detail, and progressive autonomy in managing priorities. The ability to learn remotely and work effectively in a team is crucial. A commitment to the principles and work of Solidarités International is expected.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes a minimum of a Bac +3 level in finance or control management. This can be obtained from various educational institutions such as business schools, IAE (Instituts d'Administration des Entreprises), or universities. A background or sensitivity to the humanitarian sector is advantageous and may enhance the candidate's suitability for the role.
Experience: The position is designed for students or recent graduates who are looking to gain practical experience in the field of finance and control management. Additional Notes: This is a work-study position based at the headquarters of SOLIDARITES INTERNATIONAL in Clichy (92), accessible via the Mairie de Clichy metro station. There is a possibility of remote work in accordance with the current telework charter and the manager's approval. The contract is an apprenticeship lasting either 12 or 24 months, with remuneration in accordance with applicable regulations. Benefits include an 80% coverage of health insurance, 50% reimbursement of public transport costs by SOLIDARITES INTERNATIONAL, and meal vouchers valued at €8.90 with a 60% contribution from the organization.
