Job Overview:
The Project Coordinator - Systems Finance Facility will be hosted by the UNDP Zambia Country Office, which has been operational since 196
  • This role is crucial in supporting the implementation of the Zambia Systems Finance Facility, which aims to mobilize private investment for green and climate-resilient projects. The Project Coordinator will coordinate day-to-day activities, support the identification of investment opportunities, and facilitate stakeholder engagement. The position requires a proactive approach to managing relationships with government counterparts, financial institutions, and private sector actors, ensuring that the Facility's objectives align with Zambia's Green Growth Strategy. The role also involves preparing progress reports, organizing meetings, and documenting lessons learned to enhance the Facility's impact.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Project Coordinator will undertake various responsibilities, including: coordinating the implementation of Facility activities according to approved workplans; identifying and coordinating a pipeline of green investment opportunities; facilitating stakeholder engagement among government institutions, regulators, and development partners; organizing meetings, workshops, and consultations; preparing briefs, presentations, and donor-facing materials; tracking implementation progress and preparing periodic reports; documenting lessons learned and good practices; and performing any other related tasks as assigned to support UNDP Zambia's program delivery.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess strong organizational and communication skills, with a proven ability to coordinate complex projects and engage diverse stakeholders. A solid understanding of climate finance, sustainable development, and investment mobilization is essential. The ideal candidate should demonstrate adaptability, creativity, and professionalism in their approach to work, along with a commitment to accountability and self-management.

Educational Background:
A relevant degree in finance, economics, environmental science, or a related field is required. Advanced degrees or certifications in project management, sustainable development, or climate finance will be considered an asset.

Experience:
Candidates should have a minimum of 3-5 years of experience in project coordination, particularly in the context of climate finance or sustainable development. Experience working with government agencies, financial institutions, and private sector stakeholders is highly desirable. Familiarity with the Zambian context and development landscape will be an advantage.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory, as it is the primary language of communication within the organization and with stakeholders. Knowledge of local languages or other international languages would be considered a plus, enhancing communication with diverse communities and partners.

Additional Notes:
This position is a full-time role based in Lusaka, Zambia. The contract duration and specific terms will be discussed during the interview process. The role may involve occasional travel within Zambia to engage with stakeholders and support project implementation. Compensation and benefits will be competitive and commensurate with experience.
