Job Overview:
The EVRF Data and Operational Analyst position is part of the UNDP's 'Accelerating a Just Energy Transition in Republic of Moldova' Project (JET). The primary function of this role is to analyze data related to energy vulnerability and operational processes within the project framework. The analyst will be responsible for collecting, processing, and interpreting data to support decision-making and strategic planning for energy transition initiatives. The role requires a strong analytical mindset, proficiency in data management tools, and the ability to communicate findings effectively to stakeholders. The analyst will also contribute to the development of reports and presentations that summarize data insights and operational performance, ensuring that the project objectives are met efficiently and effectively.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Collect and analyze data related to energy vulnerability and operational metrics for the JET project.
  • Develop and maintain databases to track project performance indicators and outcomes.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations that communicate data findings to project stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with project teams to identify data needs and ensure data integrity and accuracy.
  • Assist in the development of monitoring and evaluation frameworks to assess project impact.
  • Provide technical support in the use of data management tools and software.
  • Conduct research on best practices in energy transition and vulnerability reduction.
  • Participate in project meetings and contribute to discussions on data-driven decision-making.
  • Ensure compliance with UNDP policies and procedures in data management and reporting.

Required Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in data analysis, preferably in the context of energy or environmental projects.
  • Strong proficiency in data management software and analytical tools (e.g., Excel, SPSS, R, or similar).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex data in a clear and concise manner.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Familiarity with UNDP policies and procedures is an advantage.

Educational Background:
A bachelor's degree in data science, statistics, environmental science, or a related field is required. A master's degree in a relevant discipline is preferred and may be considered an asset for the position.

Experience:
A minimum of 3 years of relevant professional experience in data analysis or operational analysis is required. Experience working with international organizations or in the context of energy transition projects is highly desirable. Candidates with experience in Moldova or similar contexts will be given preference.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory. Knowledge of Romanian and/or Russian is considered an asset and will be advantageous for this position.

Additional Notes:
This position is offered as an Individual Contractor (IC) role under a procurement process. The contract duration will be specified upon selection, and the position is expected to be full-time. The role is open to both national and international applicants. Compensation will be commensurate with experience and qualifications, and benefits may include health insurance and other standard UNDP contractor benefits.
