Job Overview: The Economic Recovery Team Leader is tasked with leading and overseeing the implementation of Economic Recovery grants, ensuring that project activities are executed in alignment with the log frame, budget, and overall project cycle. This role requires coordination with various stakeholders to facilitate effective project execution both within and outside camp locations. The Team Leader will ensure that project activities are conducted in a timely and high-quality manner, closely aligned with the needs of the targeted population. The position involves collaboration with the Area Program Manager, Area Manager, Head of Programme, and coordinator" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Technical Coordinator to ensure that DRC’s activities meet technical and quality standards while supporting the development of integrated programming across DRC’s core sectors in Cox’s Bazar.
Duties and Responsibilities: The core responsibilities of the Economic Recovery Team Leader include managing and overseeing the implementation of DRC’s Economic Recovery activities, ensuring compliance with donor policies and DRC regulations. This includes maintaining data protection protocols, participating in program inception meetings, and fostering relationships with stakeholders such as other INGOs, donors, and government authorities. The Team Leader will ensure that technical guidance and tools for economic recovery are established and that accountability mechanisms are in place. They will also liaise with the Global Economic Recovery Team on initiatives and represent DRC in relevant forums. Additionally, the role involves supporting local partner capacities, managing partner agreements, and overseeing project progress. The Team Leader is responsible for staff management, facilitating communication, and supporting professional growth. They will assess needs and propose actions for economic recovery programming, contribute to reports and proposals, and monitor fieldwork through site visits. The position also requires compliance with safety protocols and ensuring team members' safety during operations.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a minimum of four years of experience in implementing economic recovery programs, with a strong understanding of Market System Development (MSD) approaches. They should have significant experience in market-based programming, including cash and voucher assistance (CVA), and conducting market and livelihood needs assessments. Familiarity with self-reliance programming and safety net programs is advantageous. Excellent managerial, organizational, and problem-solving skills are essential, along with the ability to establish effective working relationships in a multicultural environment. Proficiency in Microsoft applications is required, and a commitment to accountability practices is crucial. Experience working with local agencies and partners is also necessary.
Educational Background: A university or graduate degree in relevant fields such as Economics, Socio-Economics, Agriculture, Rural Development, or International Development is required. A Master's degree is preferred, indicating a higher level of expertise and knowledge in the field.
Experience: The position requires a minimum of four years of relevant work experience, particularly in implementing economic recovery programs. Candidates should demonstrate a proven track record in resilience and durable solution programming, showcasing their ability to manage complex projects effectively.
Languages: Fluency in English and Bengali is mandatory, with excellent writing and verbal skills in English necessary for project proposals, reports, and communications. Proficiency in Bengali is also essential for effective communication with local stakeholders.
