Job Overview: The Communication Officer will play a pivotal role in developing creative digital content packages that include audio, video, and graphic elements. The officer will support UNICEF Supply Division's communication strategy by producing high-quality content for both internal and external audiences, including staff, partners, donors, and the public. The role involves collaboration with technical teams and the Communication Centre to enhance UNICEF's digital presence and engagement with target audiences. The Communication Officer will also be responsible for piloting new multimedia formats and approaches, ensuring that the content aligns with key moments and events relevant to UNICEF's mission.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Communication Officer's duties include:
Creating comprehensive content packages that incorporate audio, video, and graphic elements.
Researching, developing, scripting, and shooting creative content, including short-format videos, animated data visualizations, and podcasts.
Engaging with influencers and UNICEF Youth Advocates to create a database for potential collaborations on supply-related content.
Conducting and covering warehouse tours and events, providing multimedia coverage, and assisting with branding and visit materials.
Monitoring content performance, researching emerging trends, and designing creative communication plans.
Supporting other tasks and projects as assigned by the Communication Centre, including additional content production and post-production services using advanced technologies and equipment.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess strong audio-visual production skills, creativity in content development, and the ability to work collaboratively with various teams. Proficiency in using Adobe Creative Cloud and other multimedia tools is essential. The ideal candidate should demonstrate a commitment to UNICEF's mission and values, with a focus on equity and children's rights. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, are necessary for effective engagement with diverse audiences.
Educational Background: A bachelor's degree in communications, media studies, marketing, or a related field is required. Advanced degrees or certifications in relevant areas will be considered an asset. Candidates should have a solid understanding of digital media trends and best practices in content creation.
Experience: The position requires a minimum of 3-5 years of professional experience in communications, media production, or a related field. Experience working with international organizations or in a non-profit environment is highly desirable. Additional Notes: This is an International UN Volunteer assignment, and the selected candidate will be responsible for organizing their own living arrangements. The position offers a Volunteer Living Allowance (VLA) to cover basic living expenses, including housing and utilities. The monthly living allowance is approximately USD 3476.28, with additional allowances for those with dependents. The contract includes various leave entitlements, including annual leave, sick leave, and maternity/paternity leave. The role is full-time, and candidates should be prepared to engage with local communities and promote volunteerism as part of their assignment.
