Job Overview: The consultant for Resource Mobilization and Partnerships plays a crucial role in supporting and nurturing existing donor-partner relationships while also strengthening the capacity of UN Women personnel in the Asia and the Pacific region to pursue funding opportunities. The consultant will serve as the primary focal point for coordinating briefing packages, including PowerPoint presentations, that support the government donor and public sector partners portfolio. This role involves documenting and managing knowledge on best practices for engaging with government donors, coordinating diverse calls for proposals, and breaking down complex funding opportunities into clear guidance to assist country and regional-level resource mobilization efforts. The consultant will also be responsible for delivering individualized resource mobilization capacity building and direct support to increase resources mobilized from governments in high-need offices and thematic areas across Asia and the Pacific. Timely responses to ad-hoc coordination requests, including the review of country and regional-level resource mobilization and partnerships planning and strategy documents, are also expected. The consultant must be able to work autonomously while also being a creative and collaborative member of the Resource Mobilization and Partnerships team.
Duties and Responsibilities: The consultant's duties and responsibilities include:
Serving as the primary focal point for coordinating briefing packages, including PowerPoint decks, for government donor and public sector partners.
Documenting and supporting knowledge management on best practices for engaging with government donors.
Coordinating diverse calls for proposals by simplifying complex funding opportunities into clear guidance for country and regional-level resource mobilization efforts.
Delivering individualized resource mobilization capacity building and direct support to increase resources mobilized from governments in high-need offices and thematic areas across Asia and the Pacific.
Responding promptly to ad-hoc coordination requests, including reviewing country and regional-level resource mobilization and partnerships planning and strategy documents.
Improving coordination of resource mobilization activities in the Asia and the Pacific region.
Collaborating effectively with team members and stakeholders to achieve resource mobilization goals.
Required Qualifications: The required qualifications for this position include a strong educational background and relevant experience. Candidates must possess a Master’s degree or equivalent in international relations, business management, social sciences, public administration, communications, gender studies, or a related field. Alternatively, a first-level university degree combined with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced degree. Candidates should have at least 5 years of progressively responsible experience in resource mobilization, coordination, and/or business development, with a strong emphasis on gender equality and women's empowerment. Experience working at both country and regional levels, as well as with donors and partners to advance gender equality, is essential. Familiarity with the UN system is desirable.
Educational Background: Candidates must have a Master’s degree or equivalent in fields such as international relations, business management, social sciences, public administration, communications, gender studies, or a related area. A first-level university degree may be accepted if combined with two additional years of qualifying experience, demonstrating the candidate's capability in the relevant field.
Experience: The position requires at least 5 years of progressively responsible experience in resource mobilization, coordination, and/or business development. Candidates should have a proven track record in gender equality and women's empowerment, with experience working at both country and regional levels. Additionally, experience in collaborating with donors and partners to promote gender equality is required, while experience within the UN system is considered an asset.
Languages: Fluency in English is mandatory for this position. Proficiency in additional languages may be considered an advantage, enhancing the consultant's ability to engage with diverse stakeholders and partners across the Asia and Pacific region.
