Job Overview:
The consultant will be responsible for designing educational materials tailored for children aged 7 to 10 and developing training modules for adolescents aged 10 to 1
  • The role involves creating pedagogical tools that promote gender equality and prevent violence against women and girls. The consultant will also conduct a three-day training for facilitators from vacation colonies, focusing on empowering them to use the developed materials effectively. This position requires a participatory approach and active pedagogy, drawing on best practices in non-formal education for youth. The consultant will report to the head of the women's violence prevention unit at UN Women and will collaborate with the HR focal point for contract and payment inquiries.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The consultant's primary responsibilities include:
  • Providing quality pedagogical tools for vacation colony facilitators, tailored to various age groups, focusing on gender equality and violence prevention.
  • Enhancing the capabilities of facilitators to independently and inclusively conduct sessions using the developed tools.
  • Contributing to the transformation of social norms among young beneficiaries through participatory approaches.
  • Conducting a documentary review of existing tools developed by UN agencies, NGOs, and Moroccan national institutions.
  • Proposing a coherent and progressive pedagogical framework for each age group.
  • Ensuring content accessibility through simple language and visual aids.
  • Developing a comprehensive pedagogical kit in Arabic and Darija, including a detailed program, facilitation guide, presentation materials, practical exercises, and evaluation tools.
  • Facilitating a three-day training for 20 facilitators, enabling them to master thematic content and pedagogical techniques suitable for children and adolescents.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Master's degree or equivalent in fields such as education, child and adolescent psychology, gender studies, social sciences, human development, or social work. A bachelor's degree combined with two additional years of relevant experience may be accepted in lieu of a higher degree. Additionally, candidates should demonstrate solid pedagogical and socio-cultural animation skills, the ability to design curricula for different age groups, and proficiency in participatory approaches and non-formal education methods.

Educational Background:
A Master's degree or equivalent in relevant fields is required. Candidates with a bachelor's degree and significant relevant experience may also be considered. The educational background should ideally include studies in education, gender studies, or social sciences, emphasizing the importance of understanding gender issues and educational methodologies.

Experience:
A minimum of five years of experience in designing curricula, pedagogical tools, or non-formal education programs for children and/or youth is required. Experience in gender equality, violence prevention, and women's rights is essential. Familiarity with similar contexts, such as youth camps or organizations focused on youth and women's rights, is considered an asset.

Languages:
Fluency in Arabic and Darija is mandatory, with excellent command of French considered an asset. Knowledge of another official UN language would also be advantageous, reflecting the organization's commitment to multilingualism and inclusivity in communication.

Additional Notes:
The consultant will primarily work remotely, with two required trips to Rabat for validation sessions and training facilitation. Travel expenses will be covered according to contract terms.
