Job Overview:
The position of Online Volunteer for Social Media Content Creation involves assisting PROSDOMA in enhancing its social media presence by creating engaging and informative content that aligns with the organization's mission. Volunteers will be responsible for producing teaching materials and graphics that inform the target audience about critical issues such as biodiversity conservation, sustainable food production, climate change, and sustainable migration policies. This role is crucial for raising awareness and promoting the objectives of PROSDOMA, as the content created will be shared on various social media platforms to reach a wider audience and support newcomers in Alberta. Volunteers will work remotely, allowing them to contribute from anywhere while gaining valuable experience in content creation and social media management.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the Online Volunteer include:
  • Conducting research on articles related to PROSDOMA's objectives, including biodiversity conservation, sustainable food production, climate change, and sustainable migration policies.
  • Designing five graphics each week that visually represent the researched articles and align with the organization's messaging.
  • Writing concise notes summarizing the researched articles and graphic designs for use on PROSDOMA's social media pages.
  • Submitting the graphics and written articles to PROSDOMA for posting on their social media accounts.
  • Collaborating with other volunteers and staff to ensure consistency in messaging and branding across all content.
  • Engaging with the audience on social media platforms to promote discussions and raise awareness about the organization's initiatives.

Required Qualifications:
The ideal candidate for the Online Volunteer position should possess the following qualifications:
  • Strong research skills, with the ability to find and synthesize information from credible sources.
  • Proficiency in graphic design tools such as Canva, Adobe Illustrator, or similar software to create visually appealing graphics.
  • Excellent writing skills, with the ability to convey complex information in a clear and engaging manner.
  • Familiarity with social media platforms and best practices for content creation and engagement.
