Job Overview:
PROSDOMA is seeking 10 online volunteers with expertise in project writing to bolster its resource mobilization efforts. The volunteers will play a crucial role in identifying funding opportunities and developing project proposals that align with the organization's mission. Each volunteer will independently research and identify one relevant funding opportunity that corresponds with PROSDOMA's focus areas, which include biodiversity conservation, climate change, reforestation, humanitarian action, plastic pollution advocacy, and migration support. The primary expectation from this position is to draft a complete project or grant proposal based on the identified opportunity, ensuring that it adheres to donor guidelines. This role is vital for enabling sustainable and impactful programming within the organization.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Research and identify relevant funding opportunities that align with PROSDOMA's focus areas.
  • Draft one complete project or grant proposal for each identified funding opportunity.
  • Ensure that all proposals adhere to the specific guidelines set forth by the respective donors.
  • Submit draft proposals to PROSDOMA’s team for review and official submission.
  • Collaborate with other volunteers and the PROSDOMA team to share insights and best practices in project writing.
  • Maintain communication with the organization to ensure alignment with their goals and objectives throughout the proposal writing process.

Required Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in project writing or grant proposal development.
  • Strong research skills to identify funding opportunities.
  • Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas clearly and concisely.
  • Familiarity with donor guidelines and requirements for project proposals.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively to meet deadlines.
  • A commitment to the mission and values of PROSDOMA, particularly in relation to sustainable development and support for newcomers.

Educational Background:
A background in fields such as international development, environmental science, social sciences, or related areas is preferred. A degree or equivalent experience in project management or grant writing is advantageous.

Experience:
Volunteers should have prior experience in project writing or grant proposal development, ideally within the non-profit sector or related fields. Experience working with organizations focused on sustainable development, humanitarian action, or migration support is a plus.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory. Proficiency in French or other languages relevant to the communities served by PROSDOMA would be considered an asset.
