Job Overview: The Education Assistant position is crucial in the Rohingya refugee response in Cox’s Bazar, where access to quality, inclusive, and safe education is a pressing need. The role is designed to enhance classroom monitoring and ensure that education is learner-centered and inclusive. The Education Assistant will work closely with teachers and education teams to support monitoring efforts, engage students, and distribute educational materials. Duties and Responsibilities: The Education Assistant will be responsible for a variety of tasks under the supervision of the Coordinator, including facilitating awareness-raising and sensitization activities in line with established guidelines. The individual will implement educational programs in the assigned location, ensuring quality and timely execution of planned activities while flagging potential challenges. Creating a safe and conducive learning environment is paramount, as is providing direction and support to contingent workers. The Education Assistant will monitor the progress of daily workers, ensuring compliance with NRC's standard operating procedures (SOPs). Additionally, the role involves conducting outreach activities within the camps, contributing to needs assessments, and preparing relevant documentation. The Education Assistant will also monitor inventory levels of educational materials, assist in the recruitment and training of contingent workers, and maintain excellent relationships with beneficiaries and stakeholders. Regular visits and communication with the community will be essential to understand their needs and support training programs aimed at improving educational outcomes.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree, preferably in Education, Social Science, or a related field. A minimum of one year of relevant working experience in the Cox’s Bazar Education Response is required, particularly in the context of Rohingya education. Proven experience in training facilitation and basic reporting skills are essential. A strong understanding of the Rohingya context in Bangladesh is necessary, along with professional fluency in both Bangla and English. The ability to communicate in the Chittagonian dialect is considered an asset. Experience working with children, youth, and educators, as well as proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, is also required. Preference will be given to candidates with volunteer supervision experience.
Educational Background: The position requires a Bachelor's degree in Education, Social Science, or a related discipline. This educational background is essential to ensure that the candidate has the foundational knowledge and skills necessary to effectively support educational initiatives in a challenging environment such as Cox’s Bazar.
Experience: The ideal candidate should have at least one year of relevant experience working in the education sector, specifically within the context of the Rohingya crisis in Cox’s Bazar. Candidates should also have a proven track record of conducting training and facilitating educational programs.

Additional Notes: This position is based in Ukhiya, Cox’s Bazar, and is a maternity replacement contract lasting for six months. The role is classified as Grade 03 in NRC’s Salary Scale, with a monthly gross salary of 45,785 BDT.
