Job Overview:
The position of Agent·e de sécurité is crucial for maintaining the safety and security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security of UN premises and personnel in Tunisia, specifically in Zarzis and Medenine. The role involves continuous monitoring of sensitive sites and ensuring the physical protection of individuals present at these locations. The security personnel are expected to act promptly in emergencies, adhering to established security protocols and communicating effectively with team leaders regarding any incidents. This position requires a proactive approach to security, emphasizing prevention, vigilance, and intervention to ensure a safe working environment for all UN staff. The Agent·e de sécurité will also be responsible for maintaining a clean and orderly work environment, which is essential for the health and well-being of personnel, thereby contributing to a positive and productive workplace atmosphere.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The main responsibilities of the Agent·e de sécurité include:
  • Continuous surveillance of sites and sensitive equipment.
  • Ensuring the physical protection of individuals on-site.
  • Responding swiftly to incidents or emergencies by following security protocols and contacting relevant services.
  • Reporting any incidents or accidents to the team leader.
  • Organizing and preparing the work station while adhering to health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Rigorously following technical instructions provided by management.
  • Adhering to established patrol schedules and working hours.
  • Maintaining professional behavior and appropriate communication on-site.
  • Operating and monitoring security systems and equipment as needed (CCTV, alarms, access control, x-ray). 1
  • Controlling access, verifying identities, and inspecting bags/objects and vehicles entering the site. 1
  • Keeping records of patrols, visitors, checks, and mail. 1
  • Being able to work irregular hours, including nights, holidays, and weekends. 1
  • Performing any other tasks as per UN agency procedures. The security personnel have limited decision-making authority within their scope of responsibility, allowing them to make immediate and appropriate decisions in emergencies or identified risks.

Required Qualifications:
The position requires a minimum of a secondary education level. Candidates must have at least one year of experience in security, reception services, administration, or a related field. Previous experience with UN agencies or international organizations is desirable. Candidates should possess good physical condition, as the role may involve night shifts and static positions requiring vigilance. Strong communication skills are essential, with the ability to express oneself clearly and convincingly. Attention to detail, dynamism, teamwork, and a proactive approach are also critical competencies for this role. Training in the use of detection equipment such as CCTV, x-ray machines, and metal detectors will be considered an asset. First aid certification and any other security-related certifications will also be viewed favorably.

Educational Background:
Candidates must have completed secondary education. Additional training or certifications in security, safety, or emergency response will be advantageous and may enhance a candidate's profile.

Experience:
A minimum of one year of relevant experience in security or related fields is required. Experience working with UN agencies or international organizations is highly desirable, as it demonstrates familiarity with the operational standards and expectations of the UN system.

Languages:
Fluency in both French and Arabic is mandatory, as these are the primary languages of communication in the workplace. Proficiency in additional languages may be considered an asset but is not required for this position.

Additional Notes:
This position is classified under the UNOPS LICA 1 level, indicating it is a local contract position. The role is not remote and requires physical presence at the duty station in Zarzis and Medenine. The expected start date for the successful candidate is June 1, 202
