Job Overview:
The Grants Management Coordinator will play a crucial role in supporting the overall grants management process for DRC in Sudan. This position is based in Kampala, Uganda, and involves ensuring timely communication with donors, managing quality donor reporting, and overseeing partnership contract management. The coordinator will work closely with various departments to ensure compliance with donor requirements and the application of correct procedures and guidelines. The role requires a proactive approach to managing grants, maintaining accurate documentation, and facilitating effective communication between DRC and its donors. The coordinator will also support the development of partnerships and assist in fundraising strategies, making this a multifaceted position that is integral to the success of DRC's operations in the region.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Grants Management Coordinator will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including but not limited to: delivering high-quality narrative reports that accurately reflect project progress; addressing comments and issues on proposals and reports in collaboration with relevant managers; ensuring the DRC grants management system is updated regularly; maintaining communication with donors to facilitate smooth information flow; managing hard-copy files for ongoing projects; participating in grant meetings and taking minutes; supporting the development of communication and visibility tools; assisting in the management of fundraising strategies and donor engagement plans; ensuring compliance with local regulations regarding project approvals and funding applications; maintaining documentation for submissions to the Humanitarian Aid Commission and relevant ministries; and supporting the development and management of partnerships with implementing organizations.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Social Sciences, or a related field, along with a minimum of 4 years of relevant professional experience in grants management, program management, or program/grants coordination, preferably within a national or international NGO. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of improving delivery quality and processes, a strong attention to detail, and a demonstrated understanding of the complexities of humanitarian operations in Sudan. Proficiency in MS Word and Excel is essential, and experience with donor reporting tools is advantageous. Excellent written and communication skills in English are mandatory, while knowledge of Arabic is desirable.

Educational Background:
A Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Social Sciences, or a related field is required for this position. Equivalent work experience may also be considered in lieu of formal education. Candidates should have a solid understanding of the principles of grants management and program coordination, as well as familiarity with the humanitarian sector.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of 4 years of professional experience in a relevant role, such as grants management, program management, or program/grants coordination. Experience working with NGOs, particularly in the context of humanitarian assistance, is highly preferred. Candidates should have a demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks effectively and work collaboratively with diverse teams.

Languages:
Fluency in spoken and written English is mandatory for this position. Knowledge of Arabic is considered a valuable asset and is desirable for effective communication within the context of the role.

Additional Notes:
The contract for this position is for a duration of 7 months, with a designation of Duty Station in Kampala, Uganda. The start date is as soon as possible. The salary and conditions will be in accordance with the Danish Refugee Council’s Terms of Employment for national employees.
