Job Overview: The UN Volunteer position is part of UNICEF Jordan’s Digital Impact-ICT function, which focuses on ICT service delivery, end-user support, and the adoption of digital workplace tools. The role is designed to enhance the ICT section's capacity to provide responsive technical support to staff and office users. The volunteer will engage in helpdesk operations, user assistance, and support for Microsoft 365 and SharePoint services, cloud systems, and digital adoption initiatives. This position combines hands-on ICT support with the enablement of digital workplace tools, aiming to improve service quality, reduce downtime, and enhance staff productivity through practical digital solutions.
Duties and Responsibilities: The UN Volunteer will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including:
ICT Helpdesk and End-User Support: Providing first- and second-level ICT support to staff, coordinating the resolution of technical issues, maintaining records of support requests, and supporting ICT onboarding for new staff.
Microsoft 365, SharePoint, and Digital Workplace Support: Assisting with the administration and effective use of Microsoft 365 services, providing technical support for SharePoint, and advising users on digital tools to improve productivity.
Cloud, Azure/Entra ID, and Systems Support: Supporting user access and account-related issues, assisting with cloud-based systems, and maintaining reliable access to ICT systems.
Power Platform, Automation, and Digital Solutions: Supporting the design and maintenance of Power Apps and workflows, contributing to digital innovation, and documenting solution logic and workflows.
Power BI, Data Analysis, and Reporting Support: Developing and maintaining Power BI dashboards, assisting with data preparation, and providing technical guidance on data visualization.
Conferencing, Audiovisual, and Meeting Support: Providing technical support for meetings and events, troubleshooting issues, and coordinating technology readiness for smooth meeting delivery.
Required Qualifications: Candidates should possess strong technical skills in ICT support, familiarity with Microsoft 365 and SharePoint, and experience in user assistance and helpdesk operations. They should demonstrate problem-solving abilities, effective communication skills, and a client-oriented approach. Knowledge of cloud systems and data analysis tools is also beneficial. Additionally, candidates should be adaptable, creative, and capable of working in a team-oriented environment.
Educational Background: A degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field is required. Additional certifications in Microsoft technologies or IT service management would be advantageous. Candidates should have a solid understanding of digital workplace tools and their application in enhancing organizational efficiency.
Experience: The position requires a minimum of 1-2 years of relevant experience in ICT support, helpdesk operations, or a similar role. Experience working in an international organization or with UN agencies is a plus. Candidates should have a proven track record of providing technical support and assisting users in a professional environment.
Languages: Fluency in English is mandatory, as it is the working language of UNICEF. Knowledge of Arabic is highly desirable, given the local context and the need to communicate effectively with staff and stakeholders in Jordan.
Additional Notes: This is a national UN Volunteer assignment based in Amman, Jordan. The volunteer will receive a monthly Volunteer Living Allowance (VLA) of JOD 1,145.08, along with annual and learning leaves, free medical and life insurance, and access to various learning platforms. The volunteer is responsible for arranging their own housing and living essentials.
