Job Overview:
The Officer, Prospect Research & Management role is situated within the External Relations department of the IRC, which encompasses private fundraising, marketing, communications, and advocacy. The primary objective of this position is to support the IRC's sustainability by identifying funding opportunities, optimizing resource allocation, and ensuring the organization's reputation through thorough due diligence. The officer will be tasked with synthesizing data from various sources to provide high-quality research on US-based donors, as well as strategic insights for senior staff and frontline fundraisers. This role requires building positive relationships across internal teams and external vendors while delivering superior research and reporting services that ultimately enhance philanthropic support for the IRC's clients. Duties and Responsibilities:
The Officer, Prospect Research & Management will be responsible for creating confidential biographical, financial, and due diligence research profiles on high-net-worth individuals (HNWI) donors and prospects in the US. This includes utilizing various online and electronic sources to build robust pipelines for fundraisers by identifying, rating, and qualifying HNWI donors capable of significant financial contributions. The officer will collaborate with frontline fundraising colleagues to develop strategic recommendations for donors and prospects, aiming to increase support for the IRC's clients. Additionally, the role involves integrating data-driven analyses and broader trends into strategies for prospect and donor management, opportunity development, and revenue maximization. The officer will manage a suite of resources, including CRM systems and subscription databases, to respond to specific funding opportunities. They will also conceptualize and conduct special projects and proactive research initiatives in collaboration with colleagues across the organization, while mentoring new team members.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree, with a Master's degree preferred. A strong understanding of quantitative and qualitative analysis, as well as business intelligence work in support of non-profit fundraising, particularly within the US market, is essential. High proficiency in internet search engines, sophisticated search techniques, and fundraising software is required, along with experience working with relational databases, preferably Salesforce. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are necessary, as well as the ability to synthesize and analyze data effectively. Candidates should demonstrate the ability to develop proactive prospecting methodologies to support organizational goals, including data mining and complex database queries.

Educational Background:
A Bachelor's degree is required for this position, with a preference for candidates holding a Master's degree. The educational background should ideally include coursework or training in fields related to data analysis, business intelligence, or non-profit management, which would provide a solid foundation for the responsibilities of this role.

Experience:
Candidates should have relevant experience in research and database management, particularly in a fundraising context. Experience working with Salesforce or similar relational databases is a necessity. The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated ability to analyze, interpret, and synthesize data effectively, as well as experience in developing methodologies for proactive prospecting to support organizational objectives. Prior experience in an international organization outside the US is also desirable.

Languages:
