Job Overview:
The Economic Recovery Assistant plays a crucial role in supporting the implementation of Economic Recovery activities within the Danish Refugee Council's framework. This position is designed to provide operational, technical, and administrative support to ensure that livelihoods and employment access activities are effectively delivered. The assistant will engage in various tasks, including field-level support, data collection, and logistical coordination, which are essential for the success of the Economic Recovery programs. The role also involves contributing to emergency preparedness and response projects, as well as capacity-building initiatives in collaboration with local stakeholders. The assistant is expected to ensure that all program activities are executed efficiently, adhering to DRC's procedures, while also maintaining a strong focus on community needs and responsiveness.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Economic Recovery Assistant will be responsible for a wide range of duties, including:
  • Supporting adherence to professional standards related to Economic Recovery programming.
  • Assisting in the implementation of Economic Recovery activities, such as livelihoods, capacity building, emergency preparedness, and income-generating interventions.
  • Aiding in beneficiary identification, registration, and verification processes.
  • Conducting field assessments through Focus Group Discussions (FGDs), Key Informant Interviews (KIIs), and surveys.
  • Providing logistical and operational support for program activities.
  • Assisting in organizing trainings, workshops, and events.
  • Helping with the distribution of grants, tools, and materials while ensuring proper documentation.
  • Conducting field visits to support activity implementation and monitoring.

  • Disseminating information to beneficiaries regarding livelihood opportunities. 1
  • Liaising with the Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning (MEAL) unit to support timely responses to beneficiary feedback, complaints, and queries. 1
  • Reporting any protection, safeguarding, or operational concerns. 1
  • Upholding confidentiality and ensuring beneficiary dignity and data protection. 1
  • Contributing to the preparation of timely, high-quality reports on program activities. 1
  • Providing weekly updates to the Economic Recovery Team Leader, including accurate data on activities, participants, and challenges. 1
  • Maintaining and updating all sector trackers regularly. 1
  • Developing and strengthening relationships with local partners and communities to maintain trust in DRC’s professional standards. 1
  • Contributing to the effective implementation of operational support activities, including administration, finance, and logistics. 1
  • Supporting administrative, logistics, and procurement processes in coordination with relevant support departments. 2
  • Assisting in preparing procurement requests and tracking deliveries. 2
  • Conducting other tasks as requested by the line manager for effective project implementation, including translation and support to capacity-building activities.

Required Qualifications:
To be considered for the Economic Recovery Assistant position, candidates must possess the following qualifications:
Educational Background:
Candidates must hold a University Degree in fields such as Business Administration, Social Sciences, Psychology, Political Sciences, Development, or any other related area. This educational background is essential to ensure that the candidate has the necessary theoretical knowledge and understanding of the socio-economic factors affecting the communities served by DRC.

Experience:
The position requires candidates to have 1-2 years of relevant professional experience. This experience should ideally be in areas related to social work, humanitarian assistance, community development, or similar fields. Candidates with previous experience in livelihoods programs, cash assistance, and community engagement will be given preference, as these experiences are directly relevant to the responsibilities of the Economic Recovery Assistant role.

Languages:
Fluency in both written and spoken English and Arabic is mandatory for this position. Proficiency in these languages is crucial for effective communication with beneficiaries, stakeholders, and team members. Additional language skills may be considered an asset but are not required.

Additional Notes:
The contract for this position is set to last until December 31, 2026, with a designated duty station in Tripoli, Libya. The expected start date for the successful candidate is June 1, 202
