Job Overview: The organization is seeking an intern who can provide support through various missions. The intern will be involved in research, analysis, and the production of notes to enrich advocacy strategies. The role includes contributing to the strengthening of expertise on issues related to nutrition, gender, social protection, health, and international solidarity financing. The intern will also engage in research and analysis on the integration of nutrition, health, and family planning, as well as the links between gender inequalities and hunger, and the financing mechanisms for health, nutrition, and social protection. Responsibilities will include drafting analytical and synthesis notes, conducting thematic research reviews, case studies, and comparative analyses, and contributing to internal capitalization and research work. The intern will support strategic monitoring, mapping, and institutional advocacy activities, ensuring a political and institutional watch on gender equality, nutrition, health, social protection, and international solidarity financing. The intern will assist in preparing advocacy actions, including position notes and briefing elements for meetings and events, and participate in the follow-up of collective spaces such as coalitions and working groups. Additionally, the intern will support the organization and follow-up of events, contribute to internal coordination, and assist country offices as needed.
Duties and Responsibilities: The intern's duties will include conducting research and analysis to support advocacy strategies, drafting thematic research notes, and performing literature reviews. They will also be responsible for monitoring political and institutional developments related to gender equality, nutrition, health, and social protection. The intern will assist in preparing advocacy actions, including drafting position notes and briefing materials for meetings. They will support the organization of events such as round tables and advocacy meetings, and contribute to internal coordination by sharing information and summaries. The intern may also assist country offices with contextual research and the preparation of strategic materials as needed.
Required Qualifications: Candidates should be pursuing a Master's degree in economics and/or political science. A good understanding of European and French institutions is essential. The ideal candidate will demonstrate autonomy, strong organizational skills, and possess solid writing and analytical abilities. Familiarity with logistical aspects related to event organization and associated coordination tools is also required.
Educational Background: The position requires candidates to be enrolled in a Master's program in economics or political science, which is essential for obtaining the mandatory internship agreement from a French educational institution.
Experience: While specific prior experience is not mandated, candidates should demonstrate relevant academic knowledge and skills that align with the responsibilities of the internship. Experience in research, advocacy, or related fields will be considered an asset.
Languages: A good command of English, both written and spoken, is required. Knowledge of French is essential, given the location and nature of the work.
Additional Notes: The internship is mandatory and requires a convention de stage issued by a French educational institution. The duration of the internship is six months, based in Montreuil at 102 rue de Paris. The desired start date for the contract is June 1, 202
The internship is compensated at a rate of 4.57 euros net per hour, based on a 35-hour work week, with a weekly working time of 38.75 hours. Additionally, meal vouchers worth 8 euros are provided, with 60% covered by Action contre la Faim, and 50% of public transport costs are reimbursed.
