Job Overview:
The Online Volunteer position at UNRWA involves supporting the project concept notes submission to the Global Development and South South Cooperation Fund, specifically funded by the Government of China. The role requires close collaboration with an Associate Donor Relations and Projects Officer. The Online Volunteer will be responsible for managing the standardization of six project concept notes to ensure they meet donor requirements. Additionally, the volunteer will translate these notes from English to Chinese, with each project averaging six pages. The role also includes assisting with the migration of submitted projects from an offline format to the online project system of the GDI and South South Cooperation Fund. This position offers a unique opportunity to gain insights into project management and donor relations, particularly with the Government of China, while also developing skills in project development, donor communication, and resource mobilization.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Manage the standardization of six project concept notes to align with donor requirements.
  • Translate six project concept notes from English to Chinese, ensuring accuracy and clarity.
  • Assist in migrating submitted projects from offline documentation to the online GDI and South South Cooperation Fund project system.
  • Support the revision and finalization of six project proposals for submission to the donor.
  • Collaborate closely with the Associate Donor Relations and Projects Officer to ensure all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
  • Engage in project management activities to enhance understanding of donor relations and resource mobilization.

Required Qualifications:
  • Strong understanding of project management principles and practices.
  • Proficiency in both English and Chinese, with excellent translation skills.
  • Familiarity with donor relations and funding processes, particularly in the context of international development.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail to ensure compliance with donor requirements.

Educational Background:
A background in international relations, development studies, project management, or a related field is preferred. Candidates should have a solid understanding of the principles of humanitarian assistance and development work, particularly in relation to Palestine refugees.

Experience:
While specific experience may not be required, any prior involvement in project management, donor relations, or international development will be considered an asset. The role is suitable for individuals looking to gain practical experience in these areas, particularly those interested in working with international organizations.

Languages:
Proficiency in English is mandatory, while fluency in Chinese is also required for translation tasks. Knowledge of additional languages relevant to the region may be considered advantageous but is not mandatory.
