Job Overview: The position of International Consultant for Software Architect involves a comprehensive assignment that spans 135 working days over a period of 8 months. The consultant will be stationed in Victoria, Mahe, Seychelles, and will be responsible for designing and implementing software architecture solutions that align with the strategic objectives of UNDP. The consultant is expected to leverage their expertise in software development and architecture to create scalable, efficient, and robust software systems that meet the needs of various stakeholders. This role requires a deep understanding of software engineering principles, as well as the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical team members. The consultant will also be tasked with providing technical guidance and support throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring that all deliverables are met on time and within budget.
Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of the International Consultant for Software Architect include, but are not limited to:
Analyzing and understanding the software requirements of UNDP projects and stakeholders.
Designing software architecture that is scalable, maintainable, and meets the functional and non-functional requirements.
Collaborating with project teams to ensure that the software architecture aligns with project goals and objectives.
Developing technical documentation that outlines the software architecture, design decisions, and implementation strategies.
Providing technical leadership and mentoring to junior developers and team members.
Conducting code reviews and ensuring adherence to best practices in software development.
Identifying and mitigating risks associated with software development and deployment.
Participating in project meetings and providing updates on progress and challenges.
Ensuring compliance with UNDP policies and procedures throughout the project.
Required Qualifications: The required qualifications for the International Consultant for Software Architect position include:
A proven track record of successful software architecture design and implementation in complex environments.
Strong knowledge of software development methodologies, including Agile and Waterfall.
Experience with cloud computing platforms and services (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
Familiarity with database management systems and data modeling techniques.
