Job Overview: The Programme and Finance Associate will provide effective support in the development and implementation of the Gaza portfolio, ensuring compliance with UN Women rules and regulations. This role involves contributing to research, financial management, and program implementation, while providing necessary operational, administrative, and programmatic support. The associate will work closely with all teams in the country office, focusing on the Gaza portfolio and other projects as directed. The position requires a proactive approach to managing administrative and logistical tasks, financial strategies, and resource mobilization efforts, all aimed at enhancing the effectiveness of UN Women's initiatives in the region.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide administrative and logistical support for the formulation and management of the Gaza portfolio, including preparing work plans, budgets, and proposals.
Offer technical guidance on routine delivery and reporting of activities and finances, prepare information for audits, and review program data for the CO website.
Support financial management by creating projects in the Quantum system, monitoring budget preparation, reviewing financial reports, and processing payments.
Implement financial strategies and administer budgets in compliance with UN Women regulations, monitor financial transactions, and draft reports on financial status.
Facilitate resource mobilization by preparing agreements and compiling information from donors.
Support knowledge building and sharing by organizing training for staff and partners.
Perform other duties as necessary for the efficient functioning of the office.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree in business or public administration. Alternatively, completion of secondary education combined with three additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of a Bachelor’s degree. Strong knowledge of program management, financial and budgeting skills, and proficiency in IT are essential. Candidates should demonstrate the ability to administer and execute administrative processes and transactions effectively.
Educational Background: A Bachelor’s degree in business or public administration is required for this position. In cases where candidates do not hold a degree, completion of secondary education along with three years of relevant experience may be considered acceptable. This educational background is crucial for understanding the complexities of program management and financial oversight within the UN Women framework.
Experience: At least three years of progressively responsible experience in administration or program management/support is required. Candidates should have experience working in a computer environment with multiple office software packages and supporting a team. Familiarity with a modern web-based ERP system, preferably Oracle Cloud, is desirable but not mandatory.
Languages: Fluency in both English and Arabic is required for this position. This bilingual proficiency is essential for effective communication and collaboration within the diverse teams and stakeholders involved in UN Women’s initiatives in Gaza and the broader region.
