Job Overview:
The Sexual and Reproductive Health and Maternal Health (SRH / MH) Analyst position is crucial for the effective implementation of UNFPA's activities in Sudan, particularly in the areas of sexual and reproductive health and emergency obstetric care. The analyst will work closely with the UNFPA sub-office and country office staff, as well as government counterparts and implementing partners, to support the planning, implementation, and monitoring of sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) programs. This role involves contributing to the formulation and implementation of reproductive and maternal health programs, ensuring that they align with national development frameworks and priorities. The analyst will also be responsible for facilitating collaboration among various program units within UNFPA, such as gender-based violence and population data, to create synergies and enhance program effectiveness. The position requires a proactive approach to addressing emerging issues in SRHR and engaging diverse stakeholders to achieve UNFPA's mandate.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The SRH / MH Analyst will have a comprehensive set of responsibilities, including providing quality programmatic and technical support to UNFPA implementing partners in project design, planning, implementation, and monitoring. The analyst will facilitate the work of consultants and experts, establishing cooperative relationships with government counterparts and civil society organizations to address SRHR, gender equality, and adolescent health issues. Key duties include supporting SRH interventions, particularly in Emergency Obstetric and Neonatal Care (EmONC), and ensuring the integration of services for marginalized groups. The analyst will monitor project progress, conduct field visits for data collection, and contribute to knowledge management strategies by disseminating guidelines and IEC materials. Additionally, the analyst will support the development of national capacities in SRH, participate in advocacy and resource mobilization efforts, and ensure effective coordination among stakeholders. The role also involves leading the sub-national SRH Technical Working Group (TWG) and representing it in relevant meetings, as well as carrying out any other duties as required by UNFPA leadership.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess an advanced degree (Master's Degree) in Public Health, Medicine, Health Sciences, or a related discipline. A minimum of 2 years of relevant professional experience at the national level in sexual and reproductive health, maternal health, or population activities is required. Candidates should have experience in program/project implementation, including involvement in multi-sector initiatives and proposal development. Knowledge of the national health system and models for health service provision is essential, along with an understanding of quality care and human rights in SRH. Familiarity with the Minimum Initial Service Package (MISP) for Reproductive Health and experience in culturally sensitive programming are also important. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and management is required, and knowledge of Quantum is preferred.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes an advanced degree (Master's Degree) in Public Health, Medicine, Health Sciences, or a related field. This educational foundation is critical for understanding the complexities of sexual and reproductive health and the various factors that influence maternal health outcomes.

Experience:
The position requires at least 2 years of relevant professional experience at the national level, specifically in the fields of sexual and reproductive health, maternal health, or population activities. Candidates should demonstrate progressively increasing responsibilities in program/project implementation and have experience in multi-sector initiatives. This experience is vital for effectively contributing to UNFPA's mission and ensuring the successful delivery of health services.

Languages:
