Job Overview:
The position of Online Volunteer is part of UNICEF Tanzania's initiative to enhance vaccination coverage through an online awareness campaign. This campaign coincides with World Immunization Week, which aims to highlight the importance of vaccination. Volunteers will support the communication team by disseminating information about the benefits of vaccines and the significance of preventive vaccination in fighting infectious diseases. The role is crucial in combating misinformation on social media and ensuring that accurate information reaches the public. Volunteers will be provided with guidance and resources to effectively promote the campaign on various social media platforms, thereby increasing the reach and impact of UNICEF's vaccination messages at the national level.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Disseminate approved campaign materials on social media to raise awareness about vaccination.
• Engage with the public by sharing information on the benefits of vaccines and preventive measures against infectious diseases.
• Combat misinformation by providing accurate information and clarifying misconceptions about vaccines.
• Collaborate with the communication team to ensure that messaging aligns with UNICEF's guidelines and objectives.
• Maintain a professional online presence that reflects UNICEF's values and mission.
• Adhere to operational guidelines, ensuring that no unauthorized content is created or shared.
• Avoid engaging in political discussions or responding to negative comments on behalf of UNICEF.
• Report any issues or challenges encountered during the campaign to the communication team.

Required Qualifications:
Volunteers should possess strong communication skills, particularly in digital and social media contexts. They should be creative and able to engage audiences effectively. A background in public health, communications, or a related field is preferred but not mandatory. Familiarity with vaccination campaigns and public health initiatives is an advantage. Volunteers must demonstrate a commitment to UNICEF's mission and values, and be able to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Educational Background:
While specific educational qualifications are not strictly required, a background in communications, public health, social sciences, or a related field is beneficial. Volunteers should have a good understanding of health communication principles and the importance of vaccination in public health.

Experience:
Experience in social media management, public health campaigns, or community engagement is highly desirable. Previous volunteer experience, particularly in health-related initiatives, will be considered an asset. Volunteers should be comfortable using various social media platforms and have a basic understanding of how to create engaging content.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory, as all campaign materials and communications will be conducted in English. Knowledge of local languages spoken in Tanzania is a plus, as it can enhance engagement with diverse communities.

This is a volunteer position with no financial compensation. The duration of the volunteer commitment is flexible, depending on the campaign's needs and the volunteer's availability.
