Job Overview:
The Project Manager position is integral to the centralized Project Management Office (PMO) within the HQ Real Estate Development and Management Unit at the World Bank Group. This role is pivotal in ensuring that standardized processes, governance frameworks, tools, and resources are in place for successful project execution. The Project Manager will work closely with project managers and key stakeholders to align projects with corporate strategies, optimize resource allocation, and enhance project delivery. The position requires collaboration with the Corporate Real Estate’s Center of Excellence to ensure harmonized outcomes. The Project Manager will report directly to the Manager of HQ Real Estate Development and Management, and will be responsible for overseeing the governance frameworks and methodologies that guide project managers in delivering real estate projects effectively.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the Project Manager include establishing and enforcing PMO governance frameworks, defining project management processes, and serving as the custodian of Real Estate Recommendation (RER) standards. The Project Manager will prepare and coordinate RERs for the HQ Annual Investment Plan, provide independent challenge and decision support on project prioritization, and lead structured portfolio reviews for senior management. Financial management oversight is also a key responsibility, including reviewing financial transactions, developing financial models, and ensuring compliance with internal control standards. The Project Manager will own the definition and governance of project management data standards and oversee the implementation of project management systems and tools. Additionally, the Project Manager will provide project support and coordination, facilitating communication between delivery teams and stakeholders, and resolving project-related risks and issues.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Master’s degree in Business Administration, Project Management, or a related field, along with five years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Strong financial management skills, including budget planning and cost analysis, are essential. Candidates should have at least three years of experience in a PMO leadership role and a strong understanding of project management methodologies. Proven experience in managing large, complex projects and portfolios is required, along with strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills. Proficiency with project management tools such as MS Project or similar software is also necessary.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a Master’s degree in Business Administration, Project Management, or a related field. This advanced degree should be complemented by relevant experience in project management and financial oversight, ensuring that candidates have the necessary knowledge and skills to perform effectively in this role.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of five years of experience in project management, with at least three years in a leadership role within a Project Management Office (PMO). Candidates should have a proven track record of managing large and complex projects, demonstrating their ability to lead teams and deliver results in a dynamic environment.

Languages:
The mandatory language for this position is English. Proficiency in additional languages is preferred but not required, as the primary working language within the World Bank Group is English.
