Job Overview:
The Consultant for Communications Support will play a crucial role in supporting the SMART Project Coordinator based in Amman. This position involves a variety of tasks aimed at enhancing the visibility and communication of the SMART project. The consultant will be responsible for collecting and documenting field-level content, which includes conducting interviews, taking photographs, and capturing video footage. The role also requires the consultant to assist in the preparation of various communication products, ensuring that they align with UNRWA's branding and donor visibility requirements. The consultant will contribute to storytelling efforts by drafting human interest stories and beneficiary profiles, and will also support the documentation of lessons learned and good practices related to the SMART project. Overall, the consultant will be expected to maintain organized communication materials and repositories, ensuring that information is accessible and effectively shared across teams.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the Consultant include: A. Field Level Content Collection and Documentation: Undertaking field visits to collect communications content, assisting in documenting program activities, and maintaining a digital repository of communications materials. B. Visibility and Media Support: Implementing visibility and communications plans, preparing communication products such as infographics and social media posts, and coordinating with internal teams for accurate messaging. C. Storytelling, Documentation, and Content Development: Gathering and drafting human interest stories, preparing SMART Field Notes, and capturing photographs and videos in compliance with ethical standards. D. Knowledge Documentation and Information Management: Documenting lessons learned, maintaining knowledge repositories, and providing logistical support for workshops and events. E. Proposal and Donor Communication Support: Drafting inputs for project proposals, translating field information into donor-focused content, and organizing proposal-related materials. F. Other Responsibilities: Performing additional communications and documentation duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Required Qualifications:
The required qualifications for this position include a university degree from an accredited institution in communications, journalism, public relations, media studies, development studies, or a related field. Additionally, candidates should have at least two years of relevant experience in communications, storytelling, journalism, media production, or related work in humanitarian or development contexts. A demonstrated ability to produce high-quality stories and donor-facing communications materials is essential, along with experience in field documentation and interviewing.

Educational Background:
Candidates must possess a university degree from an accredited institution in a relevant field such as communications, journalism, public relations, media studies, or development studies. This educational background is crucial for understanding the principles of effective communication and storytelling in a humanitarian context.

Experience:
The position requires at least two years of relevant experience in communications, storytelling, journalism, media production, or related work within humanitarian or development contexts. Experience in field documentation, interviewing, and content collection is particularly important, as is familiarity with humanitarian response or community engagement.

Languages:
The consultant must have an excellent command of spoken and written English and Arabic. Proficiency in these languages is mandatory to effectively communicate with diverse stakeholders and produce high-quality communication materials.

The position is expected to last for a duration of six months, with a salary of JOD 844.97
