Job Overview: The Finance and Management Services Officer will play a crucial role in leading, coordinating, and overseeing the finance and management services of the WFP Jordan Country Office. This position is essential for ensuring efficient service delivery and strong financial stewardship while maintaining compliance with WFP regulations. The officer will be responsible for supporting program implementation through effective financial management and administrative services. This role requires a proactive approach to financial assessment, budget monitoring, and reporting, ensuring that all financial activities align with corporate governance requirements. The officer will also be involved in developing country-specific plans and processes that align with WFP's regional strategies, thereby contributing to the overall mission of providing food assistance to beneficiaries in Jordan. The position demands strong organizational skills, the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and a commitment to fostering collaboration and teamwork within the office and with external stakeholders.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Lead and coordinate finance and management services in support of the Country Office, ensuring compliance with WFP policies, procedures, and corporate systems.
Conduct financial assessments and due diligence of service providers, including Financial Service Providers (FSPs), retailers, and other contracted entities.
Contribute to the development of country-specific plans and processes aligned with regional and wider WFP strategies to meet the food assistance needs of beneficiaries.
Report on key data regarding financial status and project outcomes, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting processes.
Monitor budgets, forecast for ongoing and new projects, and ensure timely financial reporting.
Manage cash, bank reconciliations, disbursements, receivables, and monthly financial closures in accordance with corporate requirements.
Deliver core administrative services, ensuring cost-effective and timely services to WFP staff.
Ensure effective delivery of administrative services, promoting efficiency and Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) standards.
Identify resource requirements to enhance operational efficiency and service delivery. 1
Maintain working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, facilitating data exchange and cooperation. 1
Analyze financial, staffing, and resource data to support management decision-making and operational planning. 1
Strengthen internal controls and support risk assessments to mitigate financial risks. 1
Support UN Reform and inter-agency initiatives aimed at cost savings and improved service delivery. 1
Follow standard emergency preparedness and response practices to support WFP's rapid deployment of resources to affected areas. 1

Required Qualifications:
Advanced University degree in Finance, Business Administration, Accounting, or related fields, or a First University degree in the same subject(s) with additional years of related work experience.
Membership in an internationally recognized professional accountancy body such as ACCA, ICPA, or equivalent is preferred.
Strong organizational and multitasking skills with attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Strong knowledge of financial controls, risk management, and compliance.
Client-oriented mindset with the ability to understand and respond to the needs of internal and external clients.
Strong communication and coordination skills, capable of working with diverse stakeholders.
Proficiency in using corporate systems and digital tools, including ERP systems and MS Office applications.
Educational Background: Candidates must possess an advanced university degree in Finance, Business Administration, Accounting, or related fields. Alternatively, a first university degree in the same subjects combined with additional years of relevant work experience is acceptable. Membership in an internationally recognized professional accountancy body such as ACCA or ICPA is highly desirable and can enhance a candidate's qualifications.
Experience: Candidates should have over 5 years of experience in finance, including at least 1 year of hands-on professional experience. Additionally, over 2 years of experience in management services (Administration) is required. This experience should demonstrate a strong understanding of financial management, compliance, and administrative processes within a humanitarian or development context.
Languages: Fluency in both English (level C) and Arabic is mandatory for this position. Proficiency in additional languages may be considered an asset but is not required.
Additional Notes: The position is a fixed-term contract at the NOA level, with a duration of 1 year. The role is based in Amman, Jordan, and is not remote.
