Job Overview:
The position of Asistente de Recursos Humanos at WFP involves performing a variety of human resources tasks to support the accurate application of WFP policies and procedures, facilitating the effective functioning of strategic and client-focused human resources services. The role requires the individual to take responsibility for a range of human resources activities that necessitate a certain level of interpretation of standard guidelines and practices. The Asistente de Recursos Humanos will be expected to provide high-quality HR services to clients, assist in the onboarding of new staff, maintain confidential personnel records, and ensure compliance with established standards. Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Provide assistance in general HR inquiries and follow-up actions to ensure that clients receive consistent and high-quality HR services.
  • Offer guidance and training on employment matters to other staff members to support their development and enhance their understanding of HR systems and procedures necessary for their roles.
  • Act as a liaison with other internal departments or offices regarding HR-related matters such as payroll, contracts, etc., facilitating the necessary information for timely HR service delivery.
  • Extract and compile HR data related to recruitment and selection, contractual conditions, entitlements, performance, and training requirements to support analysis and reporting needs.
  • Provide administrative support in various HR activities within assigned areas of responsibility, including the onboarding of new staff in accordance with relevant processes and procedures.
  • Maintain confidential personnel records, HR databases, and files to ensure accurate storage and updating of data in compliance with established norms.
  • Draft various HR documents required in the specific area of activity (e.g., employment contracts, transfer letters, training-related documents, etc.), ensuring accuracy and adherence to deadlines.
  • Utilize HR management systems to input and update a wide range of data, assisting in tracking various deadlines (e.g., contract expirations, PACE, etc.) to ensure compliance with established timelines and data accuracy.
  • Support the deployment of personnel and related administrative measures, including preparing basic reports to facilitate efficient HR service delivery that enables WFP to respond swiftly to crises.

Required Qualifications:
Minimum standard qualifications required for this position include the completion of secondary education. A post-secondary education certificate in the relevant functional area is desirable. Candidates should possess five years of experience in the relevant functional area, demonstrating a solid understanding of HR practices and procedures. Additionally, candidates should have experience in managing and applying HR policies and procedures in accordance with WFP operational standards. Experience in specific HR service activities such as payroll administration, recruitment processes, and interview management is also desirable. Candidates should be able to provide ad hoc guidance to less experienced staff and have experience organizing orientation sessions for new hires as part of the onboarding process.

Educational Background:
Candidates are required to have completed secondary education, with a preference for those who hold a post-secondary education certificate in a relevant functional area.
