Job Overview: The ICT Associate position is crucial for overseeing the implementation of ICT policies and standards set by the headquarters, providing ICT and administrative support services to UNFPA Ghana, and offering daily technical support to users of information management tools and technology infrastructure. Duties and Responsibilities: The ICT Associate will be responsible for overseeing the implementation of ICT management systems and strategies, ensuring compliance with corporate information management and technology standards. Key responsibilities include providing support for the use of Atlas (UNFPA’s ERP system), advising on administrative business processes, and preparing results-oriented work plans. The incumbent will ensure the effective functioning of hardware and software packages, manage technical functions such as hardware repairs and software installations, and ensure timely upgrades of security programs. Additionally, the ICT Associate will oversee ICT security measures, ensuring compliance with established corporate standards and managing user access rights. The role also involves managing vendor relationships and monitoring performance to ensure satisfactory completion of IT-related contracts.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field. They should have at least three years of progressively responsible professional experience in ICT within a public or private sector organization. A good knowledge of PC/LAN operating systems, Microsoft Windows, corporate ICT security, and viral protection systems is essential. The ability to perform a variety of standard specialized and non-specialized tasks, review data, identify discrepancies, and resolve operational problems is also required. Candidates should demonstrate strong analytical skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Educational Background: The educational requirement for this position is a Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field. This foundational knowledge is critical for understanding the complexities of ICT systems and their application within the organization.
Experience: The position requires a minimum of three years of progressively responsible professional experience in ICT. This experience should ideally be gained in a public or private sector organization, where the candidate has developed a strong understanding of ICT systems and their operational requirements.
