Job Overview:
The GS-Maintenance position is crucial for ensuring the proper functioning and safety of facilities in Mocha and Khokha. Under the supervision of the Support Services Team Leader and in coordination with the Admin Officer, the role involves carrying out maintenance tasks, including installations, preventative maintenance, and routine inspections of premises, furniture, fixtures, and utilities. The GS-Maintenance will prepare maintenance reports and manage the repair or disposal status of assets. This position requires a proactive approach to identifying and resolving maintenance issues, ensuring compliance with safety standards, and contributing to the overall efficiency of the organization's operations.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The GS-Maintenance will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including but not limited to: handling maintenance, repairs, and installations in Mocha and Khokha premises, community centers, and stores; detecting and repairing issues related to air conditioning, electrical systems, and plumbing; fitting, testing, and replacing fixtures and fittings; performing basic carpentry tasks; conducting regular inspections of offices and guest houses to identify maintenance needs; ensuring the functionality of bathrooms and other utilities; overseeing contractors during repairs and installations; checking solar systems for cleanliness and functionality; installing and dismantling furniture and equipment; ensuring adherence to maintenance procedures by cleaning staff; maintaining safety systems; reporting repair needs to the line manager; assisting in bi-yearly inspections; participating in asset verification; and preparing weekly maintenance schedules in coordination with the Admin Officer.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess at least one year of professional experience in a similar maintenance role. Hands-on experience with air conditioning systems and electrical equipment is essential. Proficiency in computer applications, particularly MS Word and MS Excel, is required. The ability to work effectively under pressure and relevant experience in an international non-governmental organization (INGO) is preferred.

Educational Background:
A diploma in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning, electrical engineering, or a related field is required for this position. Relevant certifications or licenses in maintenance or technical fields will be considered an advantage.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of one year of relevant professional experience in maintenance or a similar role. Candidates should have practical experience with air conditioning systems and electrical equipment, demonstrating the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues effectively. Experience working in an INGO context is highly desirable, as it indicates familiarity with the operational challenges and standards in humanitarian settings.

Languages:
Fluency in Arabic is mandatory, while a basic level of English is required. Proficiency in additional languages may be considered an asset, enhancing communication within diverse teams and with local communities.

Additional Notes:
This position is classified under the non-management (NMJ) band and reports directly to the Support Services Team Leader. The contract is set to last until December 31, 2026, with a start date as soon as possible. The duty station is in Mocha, Yemen, and the salary and conditions will align with the Danish Refugee Council's National Terms of Employment.
